My apologies for the delay in coming back to the thread, I've been away with work.
Looking at the split in experience it may suggest a DNS issue (just tried my Halifax account again and its ok)
Do the following first before proceeding with what I am about to suggest below:
Windows XP (make sure you are logged on as admin)
Go to Start > Run and type cmd and then click OK
At the prompt type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter (the space is all important, if omitted the command will fail as it won't be interpreted as a switch)
Windows should indicate the cache has been cleared.
Close the window
Windows Vista/7:
Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories
Right-click Command Prompt and then left-click Run as Administrator
Click Continue
At the prompt type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter (the space is all important, if omitted the command will fail as it won't be interpreted as a switch)
Windows should indicate the cache has been cleared.
Windows 8:
Press and hold windows key (four squares) and press R
type cmd and click OK
At the prompt type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter (the space is all important, if omitted the command will fail as it won't be interpreted as a switch)
Windows should indicate the cache has been cleared.
Close the window
Mac (I'll admit at this point my knowledge of Mac is less than Windows, simply because I spend most of my time dealing with Windows, I don't prefer one over the other)
Access Terminal by typing it into Finder
At the prompt type dscacheutil -flushcache and press Enter (again the space is important)
If the command is successful you will just return to the prompt.
Next step is to try to change your DNS servers (both are free to use)
You could try OpenDNS https://store.opendns.com/setup/
Google's public DNS https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using#setup
Others are of course available but those are the two I'm immediately aware of.
Apologies in advance to the mods is this is unacceptable, links posted in good faith to help those on the forum.Interests: PCs. servers, networks, mobiles and music (esp. trance)0 -
The upgrade of Adobe Flashplayer Frank777 suggested seems to have made a big difference to how the Halifax and Lloyds sites are working for me now. They are literally flying now compared with before (so they are still a bit slow!)0

The only slightly strange thing I got was today with a lower limit text warning that was wrong. In the small hours of this morning, I changing my higher and lower limit warning alerts (to deal with the £6k to £5k change to LB vantage accounts on after 31 Oct). I had moved £1K out from one accounts changing the balance to £5017. The text warning was to report that balance and my account had reached or was below the lower limit (which is set at £4997). This was timed at 05.04hrs. I made the change just after 01.00hrs.0

I should have commented also I am running the latest flash player but looking around the site none of it appears to have been built in Flash.
Is it just the online banking you all are having difficulty with or the main site too?
Anyone tried the DNS swap?Interests: PCs. servers, networks, mobiles and music (esp. trance)0 -

Coincidence i'm afraid.
Lloyds and Halifax are indeed flying along again now but as I don't have Flash installed on my banking PC its nothing to do with that.
I posted yesterday that it was back and fast again so I reckon the issue was their end (or DNS if its still slow for some).0 -
The fact that the (three) sites continue experience periods of speeding up, followed by longer periods of near paralysis doesn't suggest 'once-only' improvements of the updating Adobe Flash kind as solutions. It is more likely that the sites slowed down because the under the bonnet performance is varying......under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0
