I had a planned to tackle the new budget this evening with DH, however DS1 had other ideas - namely doing everything he could not to sleep. I've since been doing battle with the sugar cravings that are threatening to keep me in my maternity clothes for ever - I will not let them win!! :rotfl:
So I've come up to bed with baby star and am trawling through the diaries instead. It's as much as my sugar deprived body can manage and is a good distraction. Budget tomorrow then

Hope you managed to get some sleep

Good luck with the budget."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Goodluck from here too!
Sorry I'm still post move with no internet (in library) so not caught up but sending a hearty wave!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
:money:Sleeves up folks.:money:0 -
Thanks guys! Hope the move is all done and dusted now Pippi - I'll have a nosy on your diary and find out

I'm getting an unexpected amount of sleep here to be honest, and because DS1 was such an awful sleeper I'm still expecting it to change any day now
However tonight will be different as DH has gone for a rare night out so I'll be getting up with both of them, and you can guarantee DS1 will be up more than the baby!!
Budget still not done, I've hardly seen DH this week so that's a little job for the weekend. A few incomings and outgoings have changed so it does need doing. I've also let the spending diary slide  Only since the start of the month but it's always a bit unreliable going even that far back. So that's on the list for this weekend too. I know how to live it up!!
It's been a glorious day in the sunshine today, DS1 had a marvellous time at nursery this morning which gave me some lovely time alone with baby star, and then we all had a play in the teeny tiny garden we have this afternoon
. Three loads of washing through and dried on the line and both babies now in their beds, and me as well!! :rotfl:
Hope the sun has been shining with everyone else today

Thanks jwil, the weekend was lovely. A lazy day in the house on Saturday due to the rain, and then watching my super boy swimming followed by a picnic by the lake in the sun on Sunday - just gorgeous :happyhear This week has been full of appointments, the toddlers 2 yr check and the baby's second lot of jabs
Thank goodness thats over for another 4 weeks
I have renewed enthusiasm for the task this week. Decent overpayments to the debt have been made via the PAD challenge over the past couple of weeks and it feels like I can see some results again. Rent is due from the council tomorrow so we'll see what that brings, if it is lower than it was due to 2 of them being there I'll have to try to get backdated top ups on top of top ups(!!!) but I'm much more confident of this happening with the guarantor on board.
Looking forward to another day of sunshine to dry the washing tomorrow, fingers crossed the forecast is right

Quick update - I've been struggling to get on this week then going away today for a few nights so just popping in quickly

No rent from the council  Rent troubles feel never ending at the moment. It's again due to a processing error and could take another 6-8 weeks to process, which will mean we will have been without a payment for 10 weeks  However, trying to stay positive, the top ups are still being paid on time and we are in a position to absorb this (albeit using my overdraft
) which we wouldn't have been this time last year.
The house feels like its closing in on me and I'm more determined than ever to get us in a position to move sooner rather than later - my boys deserve a garden!! So after we get back I am planning to embark on a massive decluttering mission involving chucking, recycling and selling stuff in order to become more streamlined and make a little bit of money
Right, must get up and start to get sorted now, I've got to get packed and ready to go! Enjoy your weekends and the sunshine everyone

Knit witch - I know!! And we STILL haven't been paid
However, we had a lovely weekend away with the family for my Grandma's 80th last weekend, she was completely overwhelmed and loved it so we've got lots to smile about
In money news, I have redone the budget based on what we have actually spent over the past nine months, and made it more realistic although still tough enough to make progress. The mission now is to find a way to record what we're spending in such a way that we actually stick to the budget - I'm toying with YNAB but need to look into it more this weekend.
I have also decided that once the car goes - hopefully in the next couple of weeks - I won't be replacing it, at least not for a few months. I have managed without for two years and the satisfaction of seeing the money go to debts rather than on a car is motivation enough at the moment.
I must go and make another cup of tea, baby star has been up lots in the night so I need more caffeine!! We are grandma visiting today so will be well fed

Have a great weekend and well done on keeping so positive about the rent. I'd be camping out at the Council offices by now, baby star in tow
