:waves: Found you

Congrats on baby Star, how is your DS coping with being a Big Brother?
Hope you manage to get the tenant situation sorted ok, what a nightmare!
Hello jwil!! Thanks so much for stopping by
I'm still reading your updates and marvelling at your juggling skills. DS1 is doing ok, he generally ignores Baby Star and then occasionally goes and talks to him or tickles him to "make him happy" which is just gorgeous
:happyhear
Tenant update coming next (baby allowing

Good good Brizzle!! All good but busy times keeping me off here - I'm keeping up with the mse stuff (dishwasher excepted
) just not finding the time to write about it......Still reading though and loving keeping up with your SAVINGS shenanigans

Happy Easter!! :easter_os
Well it's been a while, life has been very busy in the Star household with the arrival of baby Star, and any spare time I've had chosen to actually DO mse things rather than post on here
Things are settling down a little now so the plan is to get back on here more and more to get back io the swing of things. First job, an update, so here it is.....
Baby Star is over 5 weeks old!! How on earth did that happen?! The past few weeks have flown, and while I've managed to maintain some important things like the spending diary, other things have slipped a bit, like the food shopping budget
While we haven't resorted to takeaways or ready meals, we haven't planned as well as normal so we will be working to get that back on track. Also I'm eating a LOT :rotfl: which isn't too purse friendly, but there's not much I can do about that at the moment!!
Tenant update - they're staying!! Well, one half of the couple is -he has left, that's not our doing - so she is staying along with the kiddies. Eager Elephant if you're reading, I thought you might like this
Giving notice prompted a family member of hers to get involved, and to cut a VERY long story short she is now the guarantor and the main point of contact if we need to contact the tenant, she is very sensible and helpful and most importantly, she replies when you get in touch
we are also now getting the majority of the rent paid directly from the council, with a small top up from the tenant. The council have paid the back pay and the family member paid the top up arrears  The whole things has cost £600 which has been hard to absorb but hopefully will prove worth it if it means a smoother tenancy for a couple of years.
Other outgoings this month have included the holiday for the family wedding next month, and the short break for a BIG family birthday in June. All payments were due on the same day  But we managed and I'm pleased to have got them out of the way.
Good news - Hubs received a PPI payout for over £600 this week which covers the solicitors fees, thank you universe
He also got his company car which means our car is now 'mine' :j and over the next few weeks I'll be working out the best way of trading it in for something much cheaper to run.
There is more but that's quite enough for now I think, more updating will be done soon x Hope everyone has a lovely Easter Sunday xDebt Oct '13 - [STRIKE]£44,076[/STRIKE] £41,578 5.7% cleared0 -
Everything sounding positive and clicking into place, glad the tenant issue is sorted.
Hope you have a good Easter weekend.

I am reading - I am so glad it has worked out right for both of you.
Can't believe it cost you £600 though:eek: - is any of this chargeable to the tenant or will you just see it as a necessary evil?
Glad you have a new dishwasher, a new baby and having to wash up is a step too far:rotfl:0 -
Thanks Brizzle and Alex, and Alex yes I know its not very mse at all, but I'm just so delighted with it I don't care!Eager_Elephant wrote: »

Ah I thought you would be pleased no-one had to leave
Yep we'll just have to accept the cost as part and parcel, half was for the notices so that was our choice to do, and the other half was arranging a new and comprehensive tenancy agreement reflecting the new arrangement, again this was our wish to do this. However its not quite over, as apparently the fella might be moving back at the end of the month and they want him on the tenancy agreement, so that will DEFINITELY be at their expense if it does happen
And YES to the dishwasher/new baby combo - I'm glad somebody is talking sense! :rotfl:;)
Had a lovely day today. Baby Star was weighed by the health visitor and is plumping up nicely :T Then an old friend came to visit with her little girl, she lives 2 hours away so we don't see each other loads. She brought bags of food and made me lunch and cups of tea all day, I feel thoroughly spoiled!!
We've swapped car insurance providers today, cutting it by £16 per month, hurrah :money: I can't wait for payday now, there will be loads of adjustments to the budgets/spreadsheets to be made to rev up the debtbusting again, I'm so ready!
