Quick update before my weekly dose of trash TV

Its been quite a lovely day today - the sun has been shining and I've been out for a walk with DS, slow and steady which is perfect for us both
We ended at the shoe shop as I was CONVINCED his feet had grown but apparently not, we've got another month before a re-measure, hurrah!! :T
I had some feet up time as DS had a rare daytime nap, then a friend and her little girl came round for a long overdue catch up
The only blip was the slow cook curry which I managed to make completely gross, DS put a brave face on it but there was no denying it was completely disgusting - you live and learn hey? Good news is I've done a small balance transfer to 0%, the offers are coming more often now and this one had a small transfer fee so was worth doing.
Right, must fly, I've got a date with the TV

Well, the tenants have pulled yet another stunt this morning that left me not believing a word they say, and I went to the solicitors to get the ball rolling with renewed vigour for the task. I do not feel good that there are children involved here, but the parents are unbelievable. If I was to let this get to me my blood pressure would be through the roof at this moment in time, but I'm channelling calm calm thoughts so its (hopefully) not. Ugh.
Spag bol now defrosted from stores, so I'm going to prepare that for me, DS and my mum who has kindly looked after him while I was out. I don't think I'll see hubby all week, he's pre-empting having time off for the baby's arrival by working five times as much now :cool:Debt Oct '13 - [STRIKE]£44,076[/STRIKE] £41,578 5.7% cleared0 -
Try not to let it get to you (easier said than done, but for your health, be careful)
Lol to OH working more, that sounds about the way I remember it.
Enjoy tea
All thoughts of ski holidays almost gone, except I gave Mr RG another £100 towards my part again today........sighs, maybe next year eh?Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Ah thanks Pippi, and don't be too disheartened about the lack of skiing this year, the snow will still be there waiting for us and it will feel even more wonderful when we can afford it eh?!

Thanks Pippi, now the job is to convince myself that that's the case, to avoid all the snow envy that can occur at this time of year!

Finally time for an update, I've lacked both the time and energy the last few days as I seem to have developed a cold/cough, normally not a problem but right now I'm doing my best to stop it worsening as it is rubbish timing!! So I'm resting and sleeping where possible, but there are a few last minute jobs to do so time has been taken up with them.
Things have developed with the tenants, its all quite complex and I won't go into it on here but we can safely say its 'ongoing'. I'm trying to stay calm about it and managing for the most part
So...... all overpayments have been firmly stopped by me and DH. Its very frustrating but safety first, and we are definitely battening down the hatches against all this now. Hopefully in a few weeks it will all be over one way or another and we can really start taking advantage of DH's recent pay rise to hit these debts. I tentatively tried out some of the Brizzle-recommended TTs, originally from Tilly (both of whom, incidentally, are marvellous
) and am LOVING doing this, so as soon as we're good to go again I will be introducing this to my regime
Its definitely a weird time, but it is what it is and we are determined not to lose focus because of everything that it going on. There is also much loveliness going on in our lives at the moment and that is what I am thinking about

Well its been a quiet weekend here in the Daisy house, we've had a couple of short walks out to get DS to sleep in the pushchair, but really not far as I am the size of a small house now!!
The crib is built, bags are packed and final(ish) cleaning of the house has been done.
Tonights jobs are to wrap a friends birthday present, defrost the freezer and look again at the tenancy stuff as we'll need to be in touch with the council again tomorrow. Hubby is currently in the office practising a presentation he has to do tomorrow so thought I'd quickly browse the boards
I'm sooooooo looking forward to hubs finishing work - he's having 3 weeks and I feel so lucky to have him around so much. He works incredibly hard, I know he feels the pressure being the sole earner and 3 weeks away from the job will do him the world of good. He has even declared that he is going to turn his work emails off which will be brilliant :j So the plan is that he will do all the cooking while he's off, he loves it waaaaayy more than me, and he's much better but he never gets to do it so he is happy - and so am I
The plan is to freeze loads too so that when he is back at work there is a freezer full to make my life easier.
There is something I've been mulling over...... I have definitely had my LBM and I am more determined than ever to rid us of this debt. I am willing to cut down in all (most) areas, but the one I really struggle with is birthday presents for my peers. There aren't many, they just seem to all be now, but I still feel the pressure to give a lovely present and so I am doing so this month. Now, don't get me wrong in an ideal world I would be treating all my friends all of the time, I LOVE giving presents its just that it seems to be the last thing to 'give', in my push for us to be DF. I think this is probably because the debts are a big secret, and those that I still buy for are the ones who live locally, so its a definite 'saving face' tactic and I'm not sure how to get past it, or even if I should....... anyway like I said its just a musing......
Good news - £3.70 made from cashing in half a bin liner of clothes
Not so good news - £60 parking fine   All for 36 minutes on an empty car park while we decided what to do and where to go during some flooding (and had a cup of tea from the flask, but even so.....) We were caught on cctv so no real hope of contesting
Right, tenancy stuff calls, hope everyone's had happy and sunny weekends

Look at this blog Bit scary and full on but she didn't get where she is without being extreme! I cant go along with it all but a lot of what she does and says makes perfect sense. We have stopped the whole present buying malarkey for Christmas weddings birthdays etc only in exceptional circumstances - our own children for example:)
You sound ready for your new arrival - good luck:D
Car parking fines - not all are enforceable might be worth checking out - there are forums on here.

WOW Igamogam that blog is ace!!
Thanks so much, lots to read on there and ideas for where I/we can do better
And thanks for popping out of lurkdom, I know you're off back there but I have a little question if you're ever back....... how do you get round the no wedding presents thing? I simply can't imagine attending a wedding without having bought a present, but maybe this just shows I have further to go on this debt-busting path than I thought.
I've read and read about the parking charges, I don't think we can contest so have paid  but as the saying goes..."Learn and move on"....
Yep all organised for baby, I just can't wait now!
Today has been glorious sunshine and NO COAT weather :j So I've been to a friends for a lovely lunch and our boys had a play in her gorgeous garden. Tea was from the freezer as I found more food in there, we should be good to defrost tomorrow evening when we've finally eaten everything!
Weekly trash TV date now, but I plan to catch up with other diaries tomorrow night. Hope everyone's days have been filled with sunshine and debt stomping greatness
