  • Just waking up after a 10 hour shift which was manic and realising I've got to do it all again!!
I'm going to grab some breakfast, walk the dog and fly off to work....2 more shifts and it's all done:D

I forgot my dinner last night so ended up spending £3 on dinner from the chipshop.....they were nowhere near as nice as my home made chips and all I could think is 'what a waste of money!'

Had a phonecall from DS' dad asking if he could take him to Eurodisney this year....he'll be thrilled and will be having 2 holidays abroad in one year!! What a lucky boy.....I will be reinforcing that point next time he complains about doing his homework!!:rotfl:

Just stopped by for a quick catch-up SG, excellent news that application is in - when do you expect to hear anything (ie: is there still ages to go before the closing date)?

It might be good timing to be able to 'retire' gracefully from your PTA stint if you're likely to be in the throes of a new job by the summer too!

It's a pain when payday sees everything just fly back out again, but at least you're on top,of it with all your planning and budgeting!

Hope the remaining long shifts aren't too much of a pain and you get to enjoy some R & R this weekend!

  • :beer:Thanks again Habiboo for your words of advice

The application is in and I can only hope, the closing date was last week......fingers crossed!

I'm back on rest days again today so I've been enjoying a chilled out morning with breakfast.....although I'm going to get off my bum in a second and go and walk the dog!

Volunteering at school for the afternoon today.....a bit of housework and supervising DS' homework afterwards.....fajitas for dinner!
Still no extra OPs this month but I am trying.....its been very tight though.....

  • had some great vouchers for Mr T today through the post and email.....managed to do £71 worth of shopping for £53!:j
It should keep us going for a couple of weeks ......I'm sure DS will manage to eat his way through it....he's just polished off chips, beans, chicken goujons and a cake bar without breaking a sweat!

No news on the application form....however friends have a business and they may have a vacancy for me to run their office which would be great!! They'll match my money too if they can take me on.....got everything crossed for that!:D

I hope everyone is safe in this wind.....we are being very battered here!

  • Had vouchers for Mr M in my purse plus a cashback deal for them on my bank account.....so have done another £20 of shopping today which may sound a bit mad....but it works out at only a £16 spend some of which was my new foundation(which I was buying anyway) and milk for the tea fund! So that's an extra £4 in my pocket and I'm all stocked up on dishwasher tabs, and other non perishables.....love my stockpile!!

Had a lovely curry buffet for lunch too with my friend.....3 plates of food and 2 desserts for £9....gluttony at a bargain price!!;)

Big news......I am now hoping that I'll be able to go into business with my friend....we want to start a sister company to the one she already has....got lots to discuss and think about and I am going to keep my job on a part time basis whilst we set up for security for me and DS....watch this space!!

  • 2 more afternoon shifts to go and then I'm rest days!!:j

It's been very busy but the time flies by when it's like that.

I've heard nothing about the job I applied for but that's ok....I am still working quite seriously on the business idea now with my friend. We are off to see an advisor next month and have 2 business advice meetings set up this month.....I'm trying not to get too excited but I'm very hopeful!!!:D

I have just done a check on my debts and I only have 2 more payments until another is clear!! That's 2 that have finished within 4 months....I can definitely see light at the end of the tunnel now.

DS has been keeping me busy.....he's been a bit silly in school and his teacher (who loves him!) has moved him down into a lower maths group even though he is very capable....he hasn't been making enough effort. I was not impressed and told him that I work like a dog for him, go without for him and all I ask is that he tries his best......I've given him 2 weeks to improve or he loses his Xbox for a week! I expected tears and tantrums but he agreed that this was fair!! It's the first time I've ever had anything negative from school so I hope I'm dealing with it in the right way

Wow, fingers crossed! Sounds like you are taking control of your working life though, and that can never be a bad thing.

Very exciting news, sounds like you have lots of options at the moment, which is great! More fingers crossed!

That's excellent news too, it's great when you can see one bite the dust like that and once you're clear of this one, it's onwards and upwards with another! :T

I'd say you're dealing with it fine ~ clear talking to so he's clear of your position, consequence for silliness so far, clear timeline to improve and he's fully aware of what will happen if he doesn't. What's more he also knows that yourself and his teacher are in conversation over it, so he has no place to hide! If he's not throwing tantrums then he's
    a) fully aware he's in the wrong
    b) a great kid who's a credit to you who probably is just having a daft spell (or is in cahoots with a slightly daft crowd).
    c) fully aware that he's had a lucky escape and has a wonderfully fair mum ... the Xbox could already have been taken away!

Can't wait to hear the next installment, business options and even the other job options sound excellent, good luck!
