Sadly I think this will be the case too ED and SG126.
A lot of people are probably used to weekly/fortnightly pay so it will be a struggle even to go to a monthly payment let alon emanage all their payments.
However, I think that it will help them overall as they are such key skills.
I don't think I was ever taught to budget, but I just got on with it I guess (though I did have a Student overdraft). I can imagine though for some people, it is just not in their skillset.M3 Dec2015 #160 Target £150,000 (BU £155000)0 -
Bless you...thank you ED.. and also BM
I think parliament have vastly underestimated the problems that it will cause...it will be really tough on people.
Had a manic day, all the cards are posted and delivered, all presents wrapped and given out or stashed, caught up with 2 of the girls for coffee, cleaned the house and ran a kids disco which is our last PTA chore of 2013!!
Off to work tomorrow for a rest!!

Its been a busy few days....had a lovely Xmas party with the gang from work in our posh frocks...danced my feet off and had great fun.
2 more shifts and I am off for 5, Christmas Eve afternoons is my last shift!!:j
I am still completely in budget and all I have to buy is some fresh veggies for the week....I am really pleased! I have only OP £75 this month but it's all going in the right direction!
DS is desperate for Christmas to come so that he can rip open his presents! He'll be happy I hope when he sees them all:T

Well I hope everyone had a lovely Xmas......DS was so excited with his Xbox and so grateful! It was lovely to see the joy on his face.:j
Managed a little Tilly Tidy of £1.52 today! Will have a count up of my change pot later and see if there's enough to bank and then OP too. I'm still in budget, still have money in my current account, and it feels really good!!
I'm going to walk the dog now and blitz the house.....DS pulled 16 crackers yesterday!! I keep finding bits of them everywhere!!Original mortgage £154,850 (2013)

Oh dear....had to have a spendy day today!! My wellies perished last year in the snow and DS has outgrown his (what a surprise!). I picked us up a pair each on Fleabay and spent just under £20 for both including p+p which I didn't think was too bad. We took our lab for a walk and could only walk half the path in trainers so the wellies were a necessary buy. Mine are quite fetching with polka dots on them so they feel like a frivolous buy!:rotfl:
Took DS to the bank today and he put all his Xmas money and saved up pocket money in his account....he says he is saving for our holiday in August and he has more than £50 already!! It looks like he is going to be a much better :money:than me!
Other than that I've only bought a paper and a beautiful still warm fresh white uncut loaf....well it's Xmas and it was calling me from the bakery!!! lol
Pasta bake, garlic bread and veggies for dinner....smells gorgeous!! We are still working our way through the nibbles so dessert will be walnut cake, coffee and after eights!:D
And I'm still in budget and still have money in my current account....it's payday on NYE!! Xmas miracle!!!Original mortgage £154,850 (2013)

Oh God....another spendy day!! DS is costing me a fortune....he has outgrown most of his t shirts so I have had to buy him more otherwise he would be walking round in crop tops!!:D
Definitely no more OP this month!!
However, I will be trying to claw some money back for next month...got £3 coming back from music magpie, loads of things to list on fleabay and some books to sell too!
Also another final payment on a debt due on Tuesday! yay!!
As soon as my holiday is paid for, I'm going to throw money at my debts for a few months and then I should be left with just 2 by September/October time (they are the biggies but at least everything else will be gone!!) I can really bash the OPs then:T
Was treated to a lovely Chinese restaurant meal by my mum today as she is visiting and would not let me pay....ate my bodyweight so going to bed now on a very, very full stomach!!Original mortgage £154,850 (2013)

Well I have been a bit lazy with my diary but I'm still plodding on with the MFW
One more debt has now gone- fully paid off as of 2nd Jan!!:j
I have adjusted my energy and water dd's to save me £14 per month.
I have paid £260 off my debts so far this month and £70 off my mortgage....wanted to do a bit more but had to pay a chunk of my holiday this month.
DS and I took our lab out in our new wellies today....we had great fun sploshing along...there is lots of flooding here in south wales but it's not nearly as bad as other places. He is back to school tomorrow so we celebrated our last day of freedom with coffee/hot chocolate and cake in a local caf!...£5 for a lovely little treat!
The girls and I are off to a show later this week...it was paid for in June and will be a really fab evening....Priscilla Queen of the Desert! We are going to have some food before hand..£10 limit on food and drinks...I'm very excited!
I'm going to try and squeeze another £50 off the mortgage this month but I may be struggling as I am due to pay orchestra fees and music lessons for DS. Just paid his childcare bill for the month too which was painful!!
I'm going to watch Benefits Street at 9pm....it sounds quite similar to the estates I work on so I'm interested to see if they have the same social issues......
Happy Monday evening everyone xxOriginal mortgage £154,850 (2013)

Bloody iron stopped working today!! Found one in Mr T for £12 so that'll do....it's doing a fab job too...have just ironed all of DS' jeans.
Did a shop in Mr T whilst I was there....spent £21 on food for the week....seem to have done ok...we are meal planned til next Wednesday!

Fajitas
Cauliflower Cheese with Jacket Potatoes
Beanfeast Spag Bol

boring housework day today.....it's got to be done although I'm currently finding lots of other things to do instead (like updating this diary!!)
LSD today 55p on the paper...got £2 in my pennies pot to bank and OP.
Had a nice long walk with my lab after the school run....watched her dive gleefully into yet another stinking, muddy puddle!!
She is now banished to the conservatory after being wiped down until she is dry enough to be brushed....she's giving me evil looks at the moment!!
