 Just to say hi and thanks for visiting me ~ thought I'd return the visit! Glad you did well with the Black Friday bargains, makes Xmas shopping that bit easier.
I know what you mean about PayPal payments, they're almost too "virtual" - I always forget that Ebay invoice at the end of the month and then tap into PP for the cash. One minute I'm happy thinking that I've done OK from the declutter, then the next minute Ebay pop along and take their fees and the magic figure seems to just shrink!
Good luck with the PTA and the Christmas Fair!Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Had a manic day yesterday...spent all day preparing for the Xmas Fayre, then ran a stall til 5.30...grabbed DS and took him to the theatre where he was playing with the junior orchestra...he is only 9 and I am one very proud momma:j. He was brill and it was a lovely evening!!
Have had a couple of spendy days this week....gave DS £10 to spend at the Xmas Fayre on presents for everyone, spent money at the theatre and DS and I had a takeaway afterwards because we'd had no tea!! Have also bought new outside lights as DS was desperate for them....I am still in budget this week though just about!!
Had a very tight fisted shop at Mr T today with all my vouchers and coupons and managed to get a week's shop for £31. Have made a meal plan for this week :
Tonight curry, rice, onion bhajis and poppadoms
Tomorrow veggie lasagne and garlic bread
Monday sausage, eggs,chips and beans
Tuesday Mash, quiche/chicken kiev and veggies
Weds macaroni cheese
Thursday mash chicken kiev veggies and cheese and potato pie for me!
Friday spag bol
No OP this week but might squeeze in a little tilly tidy!!Original mortgage £154,850 (2013)

I am knackered- DS was up at an ungodly hour throwing up and has been up ever since.....to cap it all I checked his hair this morning and he has got bloody headlice again!!!! 5th time this year....there is someone at his school who's parents just aren't vigilant and the kids keep being reinfected!
The headlice stuff is £10 per bottle and you have to do 2 treatments so that's £20 and I need a new lice comb too.
I'm tired, fed up and sick of being MSE....sick of debt, sick of being careful with money and sick of not being able to buy things I want.
It's going to be a huge battle not to spend lots of money today....please send me positive thoughts..I'm going to need themOriginal mortgage £154,850 (2013)

I suspect that you dont have much energy for a few little on-line income earners, but if you do there are a few of us who pootle about on here who make £5 - £40+ a week from various sites by watching ads, clicking on ads, completing surveys and writing product reviews.
I've been doing it for approximately 18 months - I wish I knew about it years ago as I'm sure I'd be mortgage free by now!

Oh you poor thing
You must be knackered.
I hope that ds is feeling better now.
Ugh re headlice as well. My mother in law says she always combed with a nit comb and conditioner for days (I can't remember how many) as they found that the nits were getting immune to the chemicals. She was a reception teacher so lots of nit experience!
Might be worth a go?

Thanks both....I had my grumpy head on yesterday!! Sorry about the moaning!
Thanks for the suggestions of more money making...I will try that out;)
ED...mums net says the same thing...I have bought a metal nit comb and vosene which apparently they hate...washed it in vosene and combed through with the conditioner. I think your MIL is right, the old ways are often the best as I haven't found any more
I only spent a fiver yesterday so all your positivity must have worked....that was on the sunday paper and the new nit comb etc!! Last year I would have spent a fortune on clothes or something so I am hoping that I am becoming more MSE!!:o
DS and I are chilling on the sofa today...I've had to keep him off school but he is feeling a bit better....another sleepless night last night but I'm hoping we can both sleep this afternoon!!Original mortgage £154,850 (2013)

Sleepygirl, I hope you're both feeling a little better!
Re: nits. I have three sons (all grown up now) and thrifty methods for dealing with the little visitors included:
Method 1: Get a medicated (Vosene or Head & Shoulders) type shampoo, or a tea tree one. Buy a small vial of concentrated geranium oil (nits hate this stuff). Put usual amount of shampoo into your hand, add a couple of drops of the geranium oil then lather up the hair thoroughly - be sure as usual not to get any into eyes! Rinse, repeat as necessary. Then lots of conditioning and nit combing. Continue the nit combing as often as possible, use the shampoo method daily or alternate days (if you're doing daily, then just do one treatment per day, don't rinse and repeat).
Method 2: Just cut 'em all off with a buzz cut all over (having sons is great for this, I'm not sure any daughters I might have had would have thanked me for this)! You might need to buy him a hat as it's winter though, but it's still cheaper than £20 for treatments
We used to use these methods as (a) we were very skint with a young family (b) my youngest had severe asthma and we couldn't go near the "chemical" cures!
I used to be a teacher and one thing I noticed with little ones at this time of year is that they would often swap hats around - make sure your son knows not to do this, as he could be picking them up this way too!
And don't feel guilty about Robbie ~ you're only young once and, let's face it, he's not getting any younger, so best to see him whilst he's still in his prime!
