Can't believe the OP let his wife go on holiday without him when he doesn't even trust her enough that he has to check her CC account and her e-mails!
After 45 years her going on holiday without me is peace and quiet for me.
It has nothing to do with trust, before she went she told me to check her credit card statement amount and pay it.
Married couples do things like that.
I was trying to check her credit card statement online to find out what the balance was so I can pay it from our JOINT bank account.
She no longer gets paper statements.
Her Tesco account is a credit card account not a bank account.
Tesco would not tell me the balance on her credit card account.
Her email account is my email account.
I will get my daughter to phone up to get the balance so I can pay it.
So where is the fraud in me paying her credit card account?
And once I get back control of the credit card account on my computer it is back to paper statements and I must remember to get my name put on the credit card account.
I can visit my son in Australia and use his computer to transfer £1,000s of pounds but I can't log into Tesco to find out how much a credit card bill is because of a missing cookie.
Ridiculous.
This overkill with Tesco and their security restricting access to only a recognised computer is just the straw that broke the camel's back.0 -

All I get is "why should I do it when I have you."
Tell her what if sth happens to you and you are not around to do the financial things for her anymore. How will she access her money then and pay the bills?DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -

The fraud is getting your daughter to impersonate your wife to get details of her credit card account.retiredin2011 wrote: »I can visit my son in Australia and use his computer to transfer £1,000s of pounds but I can't log into Tesco to find out how much a credit card bill is because of a missing cookie.

I assume that the transfering money using your son's computer was possible because you had all the access codes required - in this case because of your oversight you don't have those.
I'm also sure that if a scammer from China or wherever had managed to access your wife's account because they got hold of her id and pw then you would be moaning about Tescos lack of security.0 -

I think it's a good thing personally.0 -

Your daughter posing as your wife is fraud. You paying her CC is not in itself but you having all her security information for an account that is not joint is.
Can you not phone the hotel your wife is staying in or similar and get her to switch on her phone?DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -

Why not make it easier on yourself in future and just pay off her credit card in full each month by direct debit, then you don't need to log in and check.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0 -
It might be against the T&C, but surely it's not fraud.
Yes, sorry, you're right. But as mentioned by eddddy before the bank knowing that might be a problem if proper fraud happens and they know someone else had access to those details.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -

I did not use his bank account, I used his computer, in Australia, to access my bank account in UK to transfer money from one of my bank accounts to another.
Yet I cannot use my computer, in the UK, to find out what the balance is on a credit card, even although I know all the account details and will have to coach my wife what to say to the person at Tesco to re access her account because of a missing cookie.
It will be easier to get my daughter to do it, in fact even if my wife was here it would still be easier.0 -
Do Tesco have an automated menu system which tells you the balance over the phone?0
