Booked in for 2nd Sat in Nov. Could have gone for 2nd Sat in Oct: neither's great because we have something to do every 2nd Sat, but by waiting for Nov I can have it earlier in the morning.

  • I'm debating having one this year because i was ill in Feb and think it might have been the flu. Or a cold combined with a bug I picked up in a hospital.

My surgery doesn't seem to contact eligible patients which isn't helpful,

EDIT : Just realised this is the over 50's section , sorry:o

Don't worry, we don't ask to see your birth certificate :) Welcome to the Old Codgers' Board. xx

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

I don't think ours does either: DH should have one because he is asthmatic, but he never does and he isn't often ill, well not with flu anyway!

I've had my first flu jab three hours ago. Didn't know whether to or not but thought I would take a chance on not feeling ill after it. So far so good, keeping my fingers crossed.

  • Unable to get an appointment at GP surgery for a month.
However many local chemists are doing them, free of charge for eligible people i.e if you are over 65 or certain pre existing conditions.
We popped into Boots today and got the injection with no problems or waiting.

Had my first ever this afternoon, despite the fact I worked at a Surgery for 12 years (always chickened out, only had flu once). Went to see dr for something else this afternoon, and as I have issues with mobility she decided I should have it.

Have heard that quite a lot of people get a cough, so am waiting to see what happens next.

I had zero reaction this year, not even a sore arm, I usually get half an egg's worth of lump lol. All I got was some tenderness on the injection site for a few days. Result!

Went to get my prescription from the chemist who asked if I'd had my flu jab and on telling him no he asked if I wanted it there and then. Great. Beats having to make an appointment with the doc.
