I've just had mine today as I do every year. Get it free due to my health.

I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

My work pay for us to have them done - cheaper to prevent staff going off ill than cover when they are!
I should be having mine in 2 weeks time ...
  • Yes, had mine 9 days ago, think they should give them out earlier, many people have some sort of illness now and can't have theirs when they are scheduled

Work getting flu jabs came up in another thread a while ago.

Is the flu jab offered or is it intended to be a compulsory thing?

It's offered, nobody pins you down & jabs you - you simply reply "No thanks" to the email if you don't want it ...
2 years ago I had a really heavy cold at the time they were done & 2 days before I said that I didn't feel up to having the jab - they gave me a voucher to have it done at Boots when I felt a bit better :)

    Thanks.

There was a suggestion on the other thread that a firm was making it compulsory and would not entertain anyone being off with flu.

This opened a wider debate about health/work related matters.

I would very much like to have my flu jab but it seems to be a right old palaver getting the bliddy thing!!!

Last year...three appointments for 'jabbing' were cancelled as the surgery ran out of vaccine despite them saying in the letter 'a flu vaccine has been reserved for you'!:o

This year, been trying to phone for an appointmnet for the last 10 days....phone always engaged...looked at their website and some 'sick' idiot has hijacked their phone line and nobody can get through. Police investigating. Got the bus to the surgery to make the appointment to be told no more appointments available at the mo...ring after the 23rd Oct. Ahem!!!!

    *Sigh*

I believe that, if you do them any earlier, the coverage doesn't last until the end of the flu season.

    We had ours this week.
