I've had my flu jab....

If you have daughters or grand-daughters who are pregnant, it might be an idea to remind them that they can get the flu jab free - my grand-daughter didn't know so I told her and she'll be getting one this week. She was surprised her midwife hadn't let her know.0

We haven't had the flu jab - were away on the pre-ordained Saturday in October.
I've got the dreaded lurgy, but it's not 'flu - it's sore throat and loss of voice. Just staying indoors in the warm, hot fruity drinks etc, should sort it. These things run their course and your immune system kicks in, assuming that the immune system is not 'compromised' as they say.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.

I had mine, don't quite know why I get it free but doctor suggested it two years ago and I have had it since. I have never had a reaction to it and haven't had flu in last two years, obviously I don't know if I would have had it without the jab but hey it was free and Ifeel fine so all is good.Sell £1500

If I consulted the GP I'd probably get 'why didn't you come for the flu jab on the designated Saturday - it's your own fault'. The fact that I had somewhere more interesting and - as I thought - more important to be that particular Saturday wouldn't cut any ice with them. However, what I've got now isn't flu, it didn't start as flu, it started as a sore throat, loss of voice, and very quickly moved down into my bronchial tubes. Just needs warmth, fluids, rest and not going out anywhere, and it will take its time.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.

Can you only have it on that day? I just made an appointment with the nurse and had it done when it suited me. Seems a bit ridiculous if you can only have one chance to have it done.Sell £1500

No, I imagine if I made the effort, went to the surgery it would be done. I suppose I'm never very convinced about the value of it. I know it's one of the things they get paid for, therefore they're keen on doing it for all the target groups. Like, getting as many people as possible on to statins! Yes, I know, I get more and more cynical as time goes on.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.

dh had the jab as he goes regularly. I am not having it, I don`t believe in it but it is a personal thing anyway. I had the real flu in 1977/8, it was absolutely awful, you really know when it is that flu. I am prep`d with homeopathic remedies and so on
re doctors: we have downloaded and printed a form to opt out of being put on a database, very important as people will be sneaked onto it, unless opting out. Scroll down to the blue links for more explanation
