I've had my flu jab....

From the NHS website:-
Should you have the flu jab?
See your GP about the flu jab if you’re 65 or over, or if you have any of the following problems (however old you are):- a serious heart complaint
- a chest complaint or breathing difficulties, including asthma, bronchitis and emphysema
- serious kidney disease
- diabetes
- lowered immunity due to disease or treatment such as steroid medication or cancer treatment
- if you have had a stroke or a transient ischaemic attack (TIA)
- if you have a problem with your spleen or you have had your spleen removed
So probably not. But go and ask your surgery first, most of the time they'll give it you there and then FOC just to get rid of you.
As regards a site, they've given me it in the upper arm for 30 years and I've never had any reaction there after the flu jab or any of the many travel vaccines I've had. We used to give thousands of flu jabs in the arm and I don't recall anyone coming back with a problem.0 -

I don't qualify at my GP and the first one I had cost (iirc) £7 at Asda.
Since then I managed to convince my employer to provide them to all staff at work. They are provided by a local independant pharmacy who do them on-site over two days and there is no obligation for anybody to have one.Just broke, even.0 -

I get one free but my condition isn't included in this list. I take medication for epilepsy (seizure free for many years) and have had my thyroid gland removed due to a goitre. i used to have a problem with recurrent chest infections but that stopped once the goitre had been removed nearly 9 years ago.0 -
I got mine done free when I was my husbands carer last year and the year before. The previous year I had very bad flu and sinusitis as did my son. I was offered it this year and no charge-probably because of my history. I sent my son down to Boots and he paid £12.99 which, if it prevents what he suffered before, is an absolute bargain. Asda do them a lot cheaper I am told but I am not close to Asda. It won't guarantee to cover every strain of flu so you could still get it but unlikely. No ill effects just a sore arm for a week.Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0

I get this free as I am on now on immune suppressant medication. I would quite happily pay as adding up all the stuff people take to try and relieve it would far outweigh the cost? I had the flu 3 years ago. Never again. In bed for a week, off work for 3 weeks and It took a couple of months to get fully better.0

I had the flu jab as recommended. However, I have only had flu twice in my life.
