I had mine done last week, I normally get it done at the doctors but as we live a 50 yard walk from a co-op pharmacy I had it done there this year.
  • had it 2 weeks ago and have had it for over 12 years due to health issues, also had the swine flu one few years back surprised as my then doctors had 15,000 patients and only 300 doses

I've had mine done at the Pharmacy section of my local Tesco - I'm not yet old enough to get one for free on the NHS but my employee offers a coupon that I can take to Tesco, Sainsburys or BUPA to get it done for free (if I was office based they have a nurse come in on a specified day to give them our)

My work pay for us to have them done - cheaper to prevent staff going off ill than cover when they are!
I should be having mine in 2 weeks time ...

    As above also.

It always amazes me the number of surgeries who think that the best way of conducting mass vaccinations is to gather all their vulnerable people in one place and make them wait together in a confined space for what can be a longish period. I complained to our surgery and they stopped it the following year.

I think ours still does that. It's on a Saturday morning in October and we usually miss it because of doing other things on weekends in October. We haven't had ours yet and I'm not convinced of the need/value in doing it. I know that the surgery gets paid for it, that's why they're so keen on doing it.

  • Had my flu jab about 10 days ago in doctors surgery.
    Arm quite sore after.
Had to go today for my annual Asthma check and nurse asked how my breathing was.
When I told her it has been a bit off for a week or so, she said 'oh, that'll likely be the flu jab has done that'!! What the !!!
declined it last year as had a reaction to it but trying to be sensible but hey, not going to do that again.
The nurse asked me if I wanted the pneumonia jab too as it if given to those over a certain (ahem) age!
    I politely declined!
She said it was valid for life. If its now thought to only last 10 years maybe she thinks I'm gonna croak inside 10 years :rotfl:
Wonder if they have a jab for chocolate addiction?:T

Why did you turn down the jab - pneumonia's no joke for anybody, much less those with lung conditions.

Am but as a toddler here, but will be getting (buying) the flu jab as am sole provider/driver & the one who remembers doctor & pharmacy appointments for the family.

I've found a dose in the gluteus maximus can be "managed" with a spell on the exercise bike & thus have startled nurses with that as a "preferred" site...

Had viral pneumonia as a child - what are the criteria for elgibility for a free shot?
