I met my hubby on POF 3 years ago this month. After a few initial messages we spoke via their messenger function for 11 hours the first time and swapped phone numbers.
We arranged a date the following weekend and I knew within 10 minutes he was special.

Met my lovely man 13 yrs ago through icq (messenger program) and a webcam site back in 2000.
I think it was one of the first 'clean' webcam sites for people to chat on and as i was looking at male cams spotted him looking very serious.
There was an icq link on his page so i sent a message saying smile, you are being watched.
From then we chatted most nights on icq, playing games on yahoo games together.
We just hit it off and when we met up for the first time we just clicked.
I think i moved in a yr later and we are still very happy together.0 -

I met my now husband online 9 and a half years ago. We've been married for over 7 years. We met via Yahoo online dating (free).
We both felt we weren't meeting the right people in pubs and clubs, as we're not pub or club people, and unless you have lots and lots of friends (which we didn't), there is very little else you can do to meet people.
So we both figured we'd give it a try and see what happened because surely there must be other people that felt the same online. We were right
Also, I joined the dating site at the persuasion of an online friend (whom I've never met) who said I needed a man so I'd stop lusting after celebrities. So that's a double online success I guess.Thrilled to be DEBT-FREE as of 26.03.10

I met my partner 1 and a half years ago on Oasis website (when a client of mine told me to join as he met his girlfriend on it). He works with lots of men and I work with lots of women and it was hard for us to meet someone of the opposite sex. He moved in last year, we love each other, have plans for our life together and I hope he proposes to me soon ! I know I am blessed and my cup overfloweth.
Btw all my colleagues who have got partners/husbands in the last 5 yrs have been through internet dating. March will be my second internet met wedding I will have been to. My mans Mum doesn't know how we met but I would tell her and anyone.
To internet date, I would say you need humour, a thick skin and just keep throwing mud at the wall cos something will stick. Meet for daytime coffee in town just to see em, if they are not your cuppa nothing lost and nothing gained x As Patty would say no sex before monogomy which is a rule to serve us well.Debt Sept 2012 £140,000 end age 65.5 (maximum) four mortgages in total
April 2016 £114,599.83 (3 mortgages now)
Nil debt for some many years now perhaps 8. Need to save for a tent for holiday this year but nil else.
Over paying about £500 per month but fancy £600 so will have to think of some very money saving techniques...0 -
