Facing dismissal because of a mistake

OP I'm sorry to hear this but try to remain positive. I'm a firm believer that things happen for a reason so something better is coming along for you.
Remember negative and positive walk hand in hand. It's better to regret something I did do than to regret something that I didn’t. :EasterBun0 -
Sorry to hear that, I had thought when you said it was resolved and sorted out that you had been reinstated.
Onwards and upwards!0 -
To be honest I'm relieved. They made out if I went to the disciplinary it would take into account the mitigating circumstances and I'd just get a warning and be on with it.
That's why I pretty much thought it was sorted out and it was a formality, but if it had gone the other way I'd be terrified of going back to more of the same.
I've got a temp job starting next week and I'll hopefully be able to spend Xmas and new year with my family for the first time ever, and I'll find a new job no matter what it takes.
Thank you for all the kind words, and talking through it with me.
To those I may have sounded grumpy with, I'm sorry, I've just had the hardest time and hit rock bottom, and I'd never want to offend anyone so thank you for understanding xx0 -
Their loss. Ive been in the same position. Believe me. Their loss. Onward and upwards and even if you dont feel like it, appeal the decision.0

Sorry to hear this Monty. It sounds like you've had a horrible time.
Having been in a similar situation myself, I know how terrible it is and how much it can eat away at you. I really am very sorry for you. Make sure you're very gentle on yourself won't you, the next few weeks?Because it's fun to have money!

For what purpose? I don't want to go back now anyway, I couldn't do the job after all this. I very calmly told them that they were wrong and I was shocked they couldn't see this on face value before I left. I made it quite clear I had been nothing but truthful.
I'm going to find a job closer to home with less hours so I can be closer to my family. It's not all about money after all.0 -
If you appeal, managers who have not been involved in the decision to date should look at whats happened, even if you dont want the job back, my view is do it.
Its ten years since I was sacked from the worst job Ive ever had, I was thinking about it when I was in bed last night, my life is so much better now, I cant even put it into words.
Some things are a blessing even if you dont see it at the time.0 -

To get someone else who hasnt been involved in the situation to date to look over whats been done to you and have to give you an explanation as to whats happened to you.
Id never leave a job I was sacked from without appealing the decision.0 -
Sorry to see, what a blow, I'd change position with you in a heartbeat the way today has played out there must have been something about this day, anyone can do wrong or have miss-understood - Go easy on yourself because I fear we us humans are the biggest punisher ourselves of them all really
Sure you'll get something sorted soon and be long gone from here, make something good of it, it can be done, hope you aren't to late for that temping placement
Truly sorry x0 -
I've been following the thread from the beginning - so, so sorry to hear the outcome, but what's for you won't go by you, as they say. Good luck with your new temp role. xxx0
