If I had been in that situation and been her deputy, if it had been such a big deal Id have refused to post her parcel.

Saying yes I'll post it and pay for it out of petty cash and then telling management is really wrong. Its obvious he saw something he could make a meal of. Ive paid for this out of petty cash, posted the parcel and now shes forgotten her purse I'll tell on her so she might get sacked and I'll get her job.

If he was so bothered about company rules, he wouldnt have used the petty cash to post her parcel in the first place, hed have said no and kept the petty cash to be used for what it should have been used for, ie posting items for the business.

I can understand totally why the OP had she kept her job, wouldnt want to work with someone like that, he set her up, its totally obvious.

Thank you to everyone for your kind words, I think it's time to put this thread to rest now, simply because I can't keep reliving it and there will always be someone judging me which I don't need.

Some people would have me never move on and never get a new job, well that won't happen, I'll turn it around.

    Thank you again :)

You could start a new thread so you don't get people replying to the initial issue when you've moved on.
I'd love to hear how you future develops, it's inspiring to see that you managed to turn your life round. I know too many people who keep moaning even when they have great opportunities in front of them.
  • Good luck for the future Monty lets hope 2014 is the brand new start that you need and with such a positive attitude I'm sure you will turn everything around.

Put this episode way behind you and have a great Christmas and happy New Year.
