  • Just my gut instict...but I think they are unlikely to sack you for £10.......especially as you are such a loyal and hard worker.

Your deputy acted badly over the post office incident and I dont know why ppl havent pointed out that HE spent petty cash on non-legit items and is at least 50% + to blame for the "inident". And considering he has most to gain by your downfall, he has not behaved with integrity.

Stress-elated sick leave always rings alarm bells with me as to the respondent's case. If I were unfairly accused I would be incandescent with indignant rage, not reduced to an apparently stressed "defence".

You are a valuable empleyee with a great track record...stand up to the unfair acusatons and get back in there Monday and show them what an effective employee you are.

The AM cannot be blamed for following clear instructions given to him from his manager.

In my work he could. The staff handbook says thou shalt/shall not and does not have a clause of 'except if instructed otherwise by your line manager'.

Had the whole of their cash in his care.

I wonder how long it took the deputy to report the incident as well. If not immediately I'd be asking why if I was in HR,

Yes. HR manager called me as I was off sick and I explained the whole situation to her. She said she felt it had gotten out of hand and being fed information from colleagues wasn't helping me. I told her I feel pushed into resigning and she has assured me this isn't necessary.
She has asked me to meet with her and my area manager on weds this week to sort out a resolve.

I hope no one ever finds them-self in this mess, I feel utterly humiliated.

    Huge learning curve.

  • Thank you. I can't tell you what a crappy impact this has had on my life. Home/relationship/health/self esteem.

I realise what an idiot I've been but as I said I'll learn from it.
I'm not a bad person, I work very hard and try to do good by people, but sometimes we make mistakes.

I've got a temp job lined up if it goes belly up on weds.
I'll update when it's over with!
  • Good luck for Wednesday.
If my posts have random wrong words, please blame the damn autocorrect not me :D
