I believe this is the flight in question?
Thomson call it a day flight so the technicalities of what different organisations may define them as is irrelevant

Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.

We always go All Inclusive and usually holiday in the Canaries or Turkey.

Be careful when you check out at midday as some hotels will cut off your AI wristband at that point, which means all drinks and food will have to be paid for from that point onwards.

This has happened a number of times in Lanzarote with us, never in Turkey!

This is something you need to check out with Thomsons also as it will have major implications for your kids (and you of course).

    We booked online.

It didn't say it was a night flight.

Thomsons couldn't care less (I suppose they've got out money so why should they).

We contacted the hotel and they have been helpful, so it we'll probably book a room with them for an extra night.

Glad to hear the hotel have been helpful. They probably won't have availability of rooms in mid and high season though.

I do think they should highlight clearly that you aren't going to get late check out or an extra night with these flight times before booking.

I really don't understand why you think Thomsons should care. They show you all the details multiple times, and you have to even tick to confirm before you buy.

    This really isn't their fault...

It is crazy that they sell a package that you check out the room 18 to 20 hours before the flight.
Thats why I dont book packages.
Id rather book EXACTLY what I want.

I feel for you having little children and out of your room its awful, but its not Thomsons fault, you picked the holiday you wanted and confirmed it unfortunately you didn't confirm what you though you were booking. As I said before I bet the day flights are loads dearer so make the best of a bad job and sort a room out for the last night and forget about it, whats done is done don't let it ruin the time up to your holiday and the holiday as well.

Although the flight is at 6.30am coming home, dependent on how far you are from the airport and how many other pick ups the coach is doing, the pick up from your hotel/apartment could be around midnight (has happened to me before) We just booked the room for the day, had a sleep in the evening and then forty winks on the plane.

  • I've been a rep in Rhodes and never picked up people 6.5 hours before their flight debsy! More likely the pick up will be about 3.30-4am.

Quite simply when you searched the site for a 10 night stay it should have either returned results advising you to leave a day later to achieve this, or if you really must depart on your day of choosing you get an unmistakeable message that alerts you to the gap in checkout time and flight departure.

In reality there was probably a brief message outlining the checkout day +1 and i truly sympathise with your situation.
