  • Good going lassies!!

EE I'll have a wee look on that site and see if it's me. I'm not really a binge eater. I just graze all day. I really do reckon I am an addict for sugar so as I said I am cutting out all sweets, chocolate, cakes and biscuits for the next month and see what happens. I will rejoin slimming world when I come back my holidays and hopefully I will have broken the habit by then as even if I'm being angelic on my diet I will eat a curly wurly every night.

LAM I will be fine and apparently I will be drinking so much alcohol when on hols there'll not be much rest there. I have protested mind you and said I want to get through at least 2 books :D

In saying that I am now into day 2 of no sweets, chocolate, biscuits or cakes and today has been a NSD as well :D

However I have a confession to make. I managed to get tickets last night for the commonwealth games. Cost me £124 for them but we are so so so excited. We are going to see the finals of male and female 800m so that is going to be an amazing experience. DS has been asking me since the draw was made to hold the games in Glasgow and I tried in the initial sale and wasn't lucky. So I'm afraid that £124 has been added to my CC. I will pay it off though before we go. I promise :o

I've eaten peanuts today instead of sweets. Probably just as high in calories but better for me.

My friend got keys to her new house today and I was up there tonight. It's great. It is absolutely filthy and needs decorated throughout but it is very modern. It has a downstairs loo ( not jealous at all :() Patio doors out the back. Tons of cupboard space and built in wardrobes. Excellent in fact. She is a bit of a hoarder though so am not too sure how she will get on. It would be great if she was really strict with herself and had a fresh start. One thing I hate though is that she has ferrets and they keep them in the house. They stink  I always feel ill when I go in. They also let them run loose and they freak me out. It puts me off going to visit as her hubby doesn't want them to be put away when I go in. I do understand as it is their home and why should they get locked up just because I am visiting but likewise they need to understand that they make me so nervous that I will not come to their house.

So just sat down 5 minutes ago and have promised some cleaning labour tomorrow night to help her out so a busy wee week. All good stuff though.

Hope you are all good xx

    Well done MiT:j

    I nearly had to report a failure:eek:

I was rummaging in my handbag and found a packet of murray mints and I was about to have one when  - they count as sweets (Doh - smacks hand on head!!). Phew failure averted.

So no sweets again although I have had butternut squash bake again (made with cream) but I doubt it counts as it is a savoury dish really:rotfl:

Good going MiT and EE :T

No sweet treats here either, back to healthy snacks of yoghurt and a pear tonight, with cornflakes as the back up :rotfl:.

MiT - The Games will be superb and a once in a lifetime opportunity to go, defo with you on that. I took DS to the London Olympics - cheap seats and nothing as exciting as an athletics final, but still a fabulous time with amazing atmosphere and the ticket stubs still adorn DS's wall :D

 to ferrets loose in the house.

  • to ferrets right enough Ali. Totally minging.

EE well done on your resisting. I nearly popped a wine gum in my mouth and it was actually a physical feeling trying to resist. This is why I am sure I am addicted as the cravings are so physical. I had a quick look at the beat site but I don't have an eating disorder thankfully. I'm just greedy and have an enormous love for sugary snacks.

I've been speaking to a few folks in work about it and quite a few people (nice thin ones) told me that they actively avoid sugary snacks So I reckon I have found my answer. I just hope that I can stick with it. We were joking that instead of AA I would be in SA (sugarmunchers anonymous) I was then getting comments asking how many days clean I was :rotfl:. I don't care though as I am just happy to be 'clean' for 2 days

Ali, we are all very excited about the games. We all enjoy watching them so it will be brilliant for us. I would have loved to go to the opening ceremony or closing ceremony but I just can't justify the cost. I might if there are tickets nearer the time :o

I'm excited too, I managed to get tickets today for the track and field finals. Hotel cost a fortune though, but ds wasn't bothered about the Olympics till it started and I managed to get tickets to the para Olympics for indoor Bocca (not the most exciting sport !!!) so was very excited to get these :-)

    Good morning :)

Fab on the tickets, we went to the olympics, extorniate cost but worth every penny :D

Can I join in re the sugary bits, rode my hossie for the first time last night and someone took pictures, eek, do not look good in pictures. I would love to lose 4 stone and then would look half decent in the pictures. Lots of exercising with the hossie needed and definitely need to cut down on the crap I eat. You are all doing so well so hope to get some motivation from you all :D

Hi folks. I am kind of lurking but joining in the sweet treats ban. Day 3 now and it is getting easier. Will try fruit and yoghurt but was given a pack of white chocolate buttons which I was saving for a Saturday treat. Now wondering if I should give them away as it might get me started on the sweets again.

    :)
