good news on knitting job. I am registered as self employed as well as my PAYE paid job. I also rent out my house (live in OH) so I submit a self assessment tax return each year. You pay 20% on your profit on your self employed job but you can off set any expenses.
I don't watch BB so cant comment lol.0 -
Thanks LAM. I reckoned it would be 20% but will be hardly anything once I take off costs. Every little helps though.
Been knitting all day and was out last night. Was at an old workmates's retirement do and we had a fab night. Spent £10 on booze and £7 on gift so a really cheap night out. Caught up with loads of folks I used to work with so I had a really nice time.
Not been out today so no spendsWill need to get petrol and some food shopping tomorrow but hopefully not too much and I will just go to Aldi.
Had words with my new boss on Friday  She was being a moo and I just pointed a few things out to her. I am definitely having a problem with authority as I get older. She's 10 yrs younger than me and calls me hen!! She's like a tramp coming in to work and I can see trouble ahead :rotfl:. Maybe I should have taken my redundancy after all.
Got to go to cleaning job tomorrow but hey ho needs must. I'll also hand in my knitting samples to my friend to take to the shop owner and see what she thinks. The things are super cute though so I reckon she will like them.
My hospital appointment has been brought forward after having my kidney scan. So that's slightly concerning. I am going on Tuesday. Trying not to think about it too much and am quite relieved tbh as I need some sort of treatment to get this sorted out. I'm thankfully not having much pain just now but other wee problems are manifesting themselves now.
So I'll try and pop in tomorrow. Take care folks xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.000 -
Lol re authority as you get older .... I was just thinking this about myself the other day. I used to be a team player but I think I am just better on my own now that I am older
Hope the medical appointment goes ok and maybe at last you can get to the bottom of the problems and hopefully get correct treatment. x0 -
Dear God , why do I have to be so poor? I am absolutely knackered tonight. Over the last 2 weeks we have been gutting the house we clean as no guests been in and today I was washing down the tiles in 3 toilets. All tiled from floor to ceiling and one of them is huge. I am getting too old for this sh*T. My hands are so sore.
Went to iceland and spent £36.50 on bits and pieces. Spent £20 on petrol and £2.50 on crisps and juice for when I was cleaning. All paid cash though so not too bad. I have £5 in my purse and going to try and manage the working week on that. Just remembered I need fruit so that will be unlikely.
DS is on a work placement this week at his old school so he is very excited. That'll save me a few pounds on bus fares.
Gave the knitting samples to my friend to take to the shop owner tomorrow so fingers crossed she loves it and that starts another wee earner.
Going to chill now and watch telly and do some more knitting. Just some washing to hang up then I can relax. A wee early bed for me tonight I reckon xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Hi folks. SBO nice to see you xx
Hospital today and stone is 9mm so absolutely not a hope that I will pass it myself. It has fallen out of my kidney and into my ureter so things appear to be getting quietly urgent now. My case will be going in front of a group of urology consultants tomorrow to discuss my treatment and if consultant does not call me tomorrow then I have to call her secretary on Thursday to be told what will happen next. TBH I was a bit nervous today and was wondering what on earth I was going to be told but Phew!! Nothing too drastic. I was sitting in the waiting room and I thought to myself' if this woman tells me I have cancer I think I'll laugh' Not that I think it's funny but I always laugh at silly times, but thank God it wasn't tested out.
Moneywise today I have been a bit naughty but had promised my staff some nice biccies from M&S on my way back from hospital. Cost me £34 as I put £25 in car. Doc said I was to avoid caffeine as kidneys just don't like it and water is to be my new favourite drink and also told me to get some weight off *rolleyes*. So I better get on with it.
If I need to go into hospital I will need to buy nightwear as half the time I go to bed in a t-shirt and knickers. I am doubting that this would be acceptable attire :rotfl:. My dressing gown was bought when I was pregnant with DD and she will be 20 in April. Poor me :rotfl:
Shop owner is taking all my knitted stuff and wants another wee pink set so I will need to go and get nice pink wool tomorrow. I'm off just now to do some more mittens but the stuff she has already will make me £36 and I only used leftover wool5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Glad it was nothing too serious at the hospital (ie not the big C ), but fingers crossed it gets sorted quickly.
Fab news about selling your knitwear. Not so great about the age of your dressing gown  Make sure you buy yourself a new one soon XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j
Best win so far - holiday to Florida0 -
So that your to do list for tomorrow/today actually. A couple of LONG nightshirts and a new (wrap around you twice) dressing gown. There is nothing worse in hospital than attire that gapes. And if you need a catheter PJs are totally useless & really do not work0

I agree with PLMBL
Get yourself a new dressing gown girl! I got a lovely one from Prim^ks. Had it a while now. Still looking good!:rotfl:
Force yourself to drink bottles of water...take it everywhere!:D
