  • Ok I have heat again but cannot put boiler off or there is a danger that it'll stop again. Advice is to phone boiler company tomorrow and get them out to fix it. At least we will not freeze in the meantime :-)

  • Plumber has been out so fingers crossed we will be fine. All nice and cosy just now anyway.

What a day !! So so busy in work. I was on my own today and had to eventually admit defeat about 2pm and ask for help. I am exhausted. Was in from 8am until 5.20pm and hard at it the whole time.

Had lovely pork with baked potatoes and veg when I got home. Was delish. DD's BF is here for dinner ( again) and dear God that boy can eat. 2 pork steaks, 2 baked potatoes and cheese, carrots, peas and DD's leftover macaroni cheese !! He has hollow legs !!

A nsd today which is great. I was going to try and do another tomorrow but local fabulous butcher has buy 1lb mince and get one free so I am heading there for a couple of packs tomorrow. Kids love their burgers as well so I will get a pack of them too. I'll stick on both slow cookers and make a load of chilli and 1 of mince. That'll provide at least 6 meals. Will cost me about £9 ish.

So I am going to tune into BB as I just love it and make no excuses for my taste in dreadful telly xx

  • Evening folks. Busy day again but managed to run into butchers just as they were packing up. I managed to get 2lbs mince (1+1free), 10 burgers and a steak pie for tomorrow's dinner for £14.77. So this will make about 7 dinners and all good butchermeat. I don't know why folks think it is so expensive to shop in the butcher as I always end up with really good buys. I've spent £130.02 on shopping so far this month and am hoping I won't need to spend much more. I'll pop in next week and get some more mince as it's such a good buy. The 2lbs is in the slow cooker just now and I have mash ready to make some of it into a cottage pie.

I made meatballs and gravy tonight and they were yummy. We had mash with them and veg. I also got 2 more meals worth from them. 25 meatballs in the pack. DD not fussed on them so they will DS and I on nights she isn't here. Got 2 stir fry sauces in Home Bargains today for 25p each so was very happy with that.

I watched benefit street last night and it made me cringe again. I felt so sorry for that family who were trying to work and also the gang of men trying to work. I couldn't believe that people who had no intentions of working had the audacity to look down their noses at them. These folks are no different to thousands of Brits who go to work abroad every year. I have friends who work in New Zealand, Australia, France, Spain, Saudi etc etc etc and would be distraught if they were treated like that. I mean seriously, we are all the same. Everything else is just geography ( pretty woman quote :D)

So I hope all are well. I'm tired. Had to see a member of staff today and do a stress risk with her. Hopefully I have made her feel a bit better- well she said I did anyway- and things will improve for her. Another manager told me not to waste my time. This woman was in pieces a couple of weeks ago and needs my support so I told the other manager to naff off ( or something similar. It had an F in it anyway :o) So an eventful day as another colleague fell on the ice on her way into work and broke her hip. I had seen the ambulance but didn't realise it was her. Poor soul. She had her op this afternoon so I will hear tomorrow how she got on. Also a few people were told that they had gotten through to the next round of the redundancy process so a few excited people and a few scared ones wondering if they had made the right decision.

So another day nearer to DFD :rotfl:

  • I didn't get to see Benefits Street or BB last night with being at the hospital, so I'm watching it on 4seven tonight. I will no doubt cringe through it as well. Heard I missed a raunchy BB last night too

Sorry to hear about your colleague breaking her hip. There was a little old lady admitted to A&E yesterday and she'd done the same thing. Bless her she only weighed 4 stone 9lbs!!! I need to lose more than her!! Xx

Hope you're all ok PLMBL been thinking about you. Isn't it funny how close people get on here. I would walk by you in the street but here I am in work today wondering how you were .......weird. BB was a bit OTT last night. That Lee Ryan is such a T W A T. But then those girls are just as stupid falling for his charms. But then again if it was Paul Hollywood in with me I would lick him like a lollipop :o OOFT calm doon MIT :rotfl:

Benefits street just made me feel a bit sad. Sad for the foreign families and tbh a bit sad for the people in the street who were making themselves feel better by putting them down. Does my head in when people feel the need to belittle others for whatever reason . We're all the same, the differences are the circumstances we are born under, the opportunities we are given and how we deal with them. That's why I love this site so much. On the whole no-one has a clue what we are. I dunno whether people are fat, thin, beautiful, ugly, blonde, redhead, black , white, yellow and so on and so forth and I enjoy that no-one knows I am a wee fat redhead ................OOPS told you all :rotfl:

  • Aw thank you for thinking of me!! I'm doing ok I think. DH is a bit slow and confuddled but otherwise getting there!

Benefits Street wasn't as shocking this week as last week but I agree it was sad for the reasons you described. I heard that the 50p man from last week was offered 3 jobs on the back of the programme though :T. Bless him.

If it helps, I'm a tall fat strawberry blonde :o:o.

Lee Ryan is definitely a !!!!!!. Apparently he said before he went in that he wouldn't even flirt in the house never mind get with anyone because it would be "cringeworthy", yet look what he's done! It's his kids I feel sorry for. Mind you, if Chris Hemsworth (Thor) was in the house with me I'd be doing exactly the same!!
