There is more to life than work, some-one else asked if you could transfer to another team - is this possible?

I have looked at people who have worked for long periods in my office and wondered why they have no 'oomph' . Now I know. They have had their oomph sucked out of them. I am going to go in and just do the job. No more, no less. They will get what they pay for. If I find that I cannot hack that then I will seriously rethink things.
Redundancy is not on the cards right now but I reckon if it comes up again I will bite their hand off. Brogden, The pension keeps me there as well and they're now even taking that from us so why the hell did I work there for 26years? Who'd be a public servant lol. And then I feel guilty because at least I have a job and a pension. It's much more than others have.
I dragged myself in for a shower and now look and smell much nicer :rotfl:and to be fair I feel better for it. Going to go in and have a very early start tomorrow as I have a few hours that need caught up from over the holiday period and then I can leave early if I want to. Think I may need to knock myself over the head with a hammer to get to sleep mind you
Sorry!! I was talking about corporations and you are public? Makes no difference though............a load of muppets clinging to some 'framework'...........:rotfl:
A good night's sleep!!

Ahh MiT sorry to hear how you're feeling about work, but some great advice from the others and your decision to emotionally detach, go in and do the do and come home each day with job done is a good plan to go with for now.
I'm glad you got on the bike today and 10 mins is fantastic, don't knock it. Not only will it be improving fitness, toning you up and aiding your dieting, but exercise releases the happy hormone serotonin and *should* give you a little lift of energy (after the initial knackeredness :rotfl:) and make you feel a bit better. Glad you had a shower too
Look after number one first (that's you that is). Sending dodgy hugs :grouphug:

Alex unfortunately yes I do need the job. Just me and 2 kids. Ex who pays maintenance when he feels like it. 1 cjild in uni and 1 heading there this summer. Up to my ear lobes in debt. Yet another reason to get rid of this bloody debt ASAP it opens up my choices. I could go self employed with the cleaning and laundry with my pal and walk away. Not an option whilst I owe so much. Am annoyed at myself tonight. I joined this site years ago and if I'd done what I set out to do then , I would be paying off my mortgage by now. I know things have happened which have cost me money but I have also wasted a lot on 'stuff'. Well no more. Another NSD today although defo won't be tomorrow as DS needs trousers, shirts and shoes for school. Fingers crossed he doesn't need any more before he finishes.
Re changing to another team, it wouldn't matter. We only have 4 managers and one overall manager and they are as thick as thieves. They bully everybody. Ach it's just a nightmare but I will head in and keep my head down and just slide along and try and stay under the radar. Thanks for everything guys. I realy appreciate all the support xx5 Year plan. Sorry to hear the situation, is there any mileage in raising a formal grievance relating to the management team through your HR department?2018 totals:

I know it's more easily said than done but just do what you need to do to get through. Chip away at that debt and like you say, that'll give options. Also, have you thought of compressed hours? If you could wrap your week into four days and, for example, get Wednesdays off, you'd only ever have to do two days at a time. Hope it has gone ok at work. After agro at work several years ago I eventually changed job when the right job turned up. I decided I was going to work to live and not live to work. Wages weren't as good but I was a lot happier. Keep your eye open and something will turn up,

A quick message. Am fine and horrible boss was really really going out her way to be nice to me. The girl I sit with even commented on it. I just said it's cos I'm the favourite.
