There has been for a long time in the UK a situation where people have been promoted beyond their capabilities and then when that obviously fails they promote them out of trouble. Hopefully then getting in someone who can actually do the job. Bar....... is the polite version.
  • Thanks guys for the words of support. I have decided they are not worth the angst. I'll go back next week and do slightly more than what is required of me and no more. I will not work a minute more than I get paid for unless it suits me. So their loss

Can't motivate myself tonight as I am tired and just can't be bothered. I'll finish the minimum so if anyone comes in I don't die of embarrassment and no more. Next few days are for cupboard clearing so I'm not spending ages clearing up and throwing things in cupboards just to empty them again.

Paid £33 from tesco so I have started ;). I have £21 in change to put into bank and when CSA money comes through I will pay that to tesco and hopefully it'll be paid off in a week or two. So January's aim is to get rid of tesco and reduce overdraft a little bit. That £33 has reduced my final payment on snowball by £228  and reduced my dfd by 1 month=====Awesome :D.

Hi MIT I've said it before but can you reduce your overdraft each week/month. I did that with our o/d we had with Barclays, I set up an agreement to reduce it by £10 each week and didn't really notice that £10 and the amount reduced. HTH

    Happy New Year

  • Lucielle I am not sure. I was just going to manually reduce it at end of each month. I'll save all extra cash in my savings account and reduce overdraft accordingly. I am away now though to have a look see how to go about it. Thanks :D

  • My head is full of plans and goals. I am going to put them here so I can refer back to them
    • Clear Tesco
    • Clear overdraft
    • Make £3k in overpayments
    • Lose 100lbs in weight:eek:
Goals broken into chunks as follows
    1. Tesco paid off by end January
    2. Overdraft paid off by end April
    3. Lose 9lbs per month
100lbs might be too much. I may stop before then. But at the moment that's my goal. I love plans :rotfl:

  • Loving all your plans MiT!!

I have a Santander 123 account and in online banking you can increase and decrease your overdraft. This is what I did to get rid of mine. It was instant as well so no risk of spending while you wait for the bank to decrease it. I have other current account but no o/d so not sure if other banks have that facility - I guess they all would.

Happy 2015 MIT! I love plans too and listed mine in my diary, 12 in total, some major, some very minor, but plans all the same. A new year is a great clean slate. Good luck with yours!
