  • Evening folks. My equilibrium is returning to normal state. My heart is still sore but I am dusting myself off and moving on. The chance will come again as no doubt our esteemed leaders will let us down and we will start again. Anyhoo!!

This weekend I can earn £110 cleaning:D. Means a 7 day week this week but hey ho. I'm owed another £50 for cleaning as well so I will hopefully more or less clear my overdraft with that so I can start the month free and clear and get into this asap. I want to try and get some more presents in for Christmas as I do not want to be running around crazy in December trying to get it sorted out. Also if I leave it until then I will end up using credit and I really want to get through Christmas this year without doing that. I'll try my best anyway.

I will meal plan and make sure I don't over buy. I've done quite well this month with shopping.

1st week at slimming club ( Again?? I hear you cry) but only ;ost 3lbs. I reckon my days of big weight losses are past unfortunately. I stuck to plan like glue but not a fabulous result. Never mind. So long as it has gone down.

Made tablet for my friend tonight as she has a macmillan coffee morning on Thursday and she asked me to make it for her. I refused the ingredients cost from her. *SIGH* I'll never be solvent :rotfl:

I am going to tighten my belt from now until end of year as tight as I can and then re-evaluate at end of year. Hopefully be in a slightly better position than now. I've just lost my way a wee bit recently. Normally when I do that I do a runner from here for ages but I am determined that I will stay and get through this.

DD is extremely excited about Uni and desperate to get started. She met up with a crowd of her classmates today and she is now hyper. I'm very proud of her. So let's do this folks :)

Losing 3lbs isn't bad AT ALL. I'm also back at my Fat Club and have lost 3lbs in three weeks :rotfl: I also used to find it would drop right off, but that's not happening this time! You've just got to stick at it and the weightloss will come ♥

The slower you lose the longer it stays off.

    Hi MIT

Hope you feeling a little better now.

I have started a big clean up with my 'diet' and so far losing 2llbs a week which I think is quite good for me. Crisps are my habit and I have not had a bag for 3 weeks now. :D
  • Thanks guys. I'm keeping on going and as long as I get a loss then I will be happy. I love the crisps as well and the chocolate and sauces and cheese blah blah blah. Basically food :rotfl:

I made corn on cob, savoury rice and cajun chicken tonight. DS moaned we were eating too much chicken then proceeded to wolf it down. It was very nice.

I spent £2.10 on lunch as my soup was still frozen solid at lunch so would have taken forever to heat up in works microwave. I also bought a tea pot for myself for my green tea, which I am becoming addicted to, as it was reduced form £20 on Amazon to £6.50. It's a glass one and has the filter in the centre of it for loose leaf tea. I love it. Also sent a £15 voucher to my nephew for his birthday. I am definitely going to be about £200 overdrawn by payday but I am trying hard to not allow it to get any higher. I will get £60 cash in hand on Saturday so that will get me any food shopping I need and pay DS's school costs next week so all is well.

DD starts Uni tomorrow and poor soul is working in pub tonight until finish. Means she might not be home until about 2.30am. Oh well. She's young. She'll cope I'm sure, although she is still knackered from having glandular fever.

So no other news from MIT world except my office told us today they are recruiting 44 staff for a year so that has to be a good sign I reckon.

  • Evening all. I hope everyone is well. Been a busy couple of days and tbh I have fallen asleep on couch last 2 nights when I have come home from work so haven't caught up with anything. I'm absolutely exhausted just now. Working 7 days this week will not help much either but I will get a long lie on Sunday as not heading out to work until 1pm.

A workmate of mine treated me and my pal to a curry at lunch today which was a smashing treat. He had PPI repaid so he wanted to share his good fortune. I was happy to oblige.

I have been thinking a lot about food banks recently for a variety of reasons. I sometimes pop a few tins or things into my local Morrisons but my social conscience has been pricked and I want to help more. I posted on facebook last night that I was heading there today with some things if anyone in work wanted to bring anything in and I ended up with 6 bags of tins, packets and toiletries :D. We do a lot for charity in my office and I have asked my manager if I can do this once a month but send an e-mail to all staff to see if they want to help out. We have over 300 staff in the office so it should hopefully be good. Boss might say no though as we already have charities we support. If she does however I will just do this amongst my friends and family. Many many people just feel so lucky that they don't need to use these places and tbh in this climate no-one can say for sure that they never will. During the referendum the foodbank argument came up a lot and there were terrible stories of people in our country literally starving and when getting into foodbank eating beans from tins with their fingers. Kids starving. It's just not right and I just want to help in any way I can. The guy who took the food from me today was delighted with it and was very excited that I was the third person who had dropped food off that day. So bloody sad. Especially when I am fighting my weight because I eat way too much and these people have nothing. Travesty

    Anyway, soapbox away :o

DD has loved uni so far but I have not actually seen her since she started except for a quick hello at 2.40am when she got in from work. I'll hopefully see her tonight.

Not much been spent last couple of days as I am skint. Not really needed anything desperately. I bought some fruit today as I have run out but it was from a market stall for £4.50. Only other thing bought is milk today. Not too bad. Such a pity I can't always do that :rotfl:

So have a good weekend folks xx

  • Brilliant news about the foodbank drop off MiT :T. Well done you! I've been thinking of doing the same sort of thing and getting the Beaver group involved. You have just sealed the deal for me!

Hope you manage to get some rest Xx

  • I just think it's an amazing thing to get involved in. Well worth the effort and the kids will love it. My friend's DS has been insisting that his pocket money is used to buy food as well as what his parents have bought. So great to give the kids a social conscience. :D

  • Busy day today. I have cleaned 5 bathrooms/shower rooms and 2 kitchens. Along with dusting and hoovering and other bits and bobs of cleaning. I am gubbed . £60 earned though so I am not going to use it for anything other than paying debt. So long since I have paid anything but minimums I had to go right back on my thread to see which card I had said I was going to concentrate on :o. I need to try and get back to using my cleaning money for debt as I hate doing it so much and only started it so I could get debt down quicker and now it's just money being absorbed into my household funds.

DS is now looking at uni places. The course he wants to do is in Edinburgh. Their open day is next weekend so we will head through on Saturday. Edinburgh is too far away for him to travel so he will have to stay in halls. This is expensive at £122 per week not including food :eek:but he will still only be 17 so I don't want him flat sharing or anything until he has at least spent a year away from home. Now a year ago the very thought of him being away on his own made me feel physically sick but I am getting used to the idea now and tbh he is a right royal pain in the rear end so I will even pay his halls just for the peace and quiet :rotfl: obviously I am joking but he is a pest.

I have updated my snowball and my interest fro September is £90.33 which is £46 down on June's which is the last time I counted it. Still narks me that I am giving away nearly £100 of my hard earned cash in interest. Grrrr at me I need to knuckle down. I just paid the £60 from today and it has saved me £28.63 in interest over the time I need to pay all this back. I need to use this to motivate me. I'm all motivated again :D

Was just talking to my friend there that I help with the cleaning and I was saying that I am seriously thinking of taking my partial retirement next year when I turn 50. Now there are 3 reasons for that 1) is that I get a lump sum that would pay off my debt and also my home improvement loan and 2) I could help support my kids a bit through university 3) I could work for my pal Mondays and Fridays and if the self employment opportunity comes off then I will be laughing. I could also spend the next 5 years after that overpaying and getting rid of my mortgage. This would mean that by 55 I would have no mortgage, no debt and my kids would both be through uni. I could then get some money behind me for my retirement years. I could be dead before I retire ( hopefully not) so I might as well make my next few years comfortable with no money worries. When I retire I will have no mortgage or debt so should manage on my pension no bother.

All very exciting. And another reason I am considering it is that the government are stealing our pension left right and centre so I should get as much out if it as I can whilst I can. Lots to think about xx

  • Evening folks. Well today I have cleaned out a couple of kitchen cupboards, I then went to my cleaning job and then came home and cleaned my kitchen and made the dinner and a pot of soup. I'm whacked. Another £50 earned though so it's all good. I should get £100 tomorrow and I will pay it straight off of Tesco card. Wouldn't it be lovely if I could clear it by Christmas. I have £1,284.37 to clear. It's a big ask but I will try my best. I'm not sure what card I will pay after that as I have 3 on 0%, 1 on 4% for life and 1 on 6.9% for life. I reckon I will concentrate on the smallest 0% one and then go for the largest one and get rid of as much as I can from that before the 0% runs out in Jan 2016 so I have a lot less to find a balance transfer for nearer the time.I reckon I will pay the 4% and 6.9% last of all and will hopefully get them onto 0% when I am just down to the 2 of them.

The house I cleaned today is absolutely stunning. It has 9 bedrooms and sleeps 21 people. 7 bathrooms, gym, cinema room, 3 kitchens, lounge, pool room with bar, dining room and library. Extensive gardens and outdoor jacuzzi. It is just heaven and I love it. I have had a wee stay in it about a year ago but don't you just wonder how on earth people can manage to buy these types of places. It has private owners who work abroad but who will retire there. Lucky beggars. My lounge is the size of one of their bathrooms .

So as I said. Slow cooker is cooking away with lentil soup. This will provide lunches for the week for me. I have taken sausages out for tomorrow night's dinner and we will have them with oven chips and fried onions and gravy.

So a busy day but lots achieved :D
