Glad you feel better MIT. Ooh I love the sound of partial retirement! And the holiday in the sun - where to?I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

SA I love the sound of it as well but I'm only 50 next year so it's a huge decision to make. I'm off to Alcudia 2 weeks on Sunday and I cannot wait. There are 8 of us going. 2 couples, me and my friend and her 2 daughters. I have my own room so can get peace when I want it so it will be fabulous.
Bit of a spendy day today. School bag and jacket for DS. £39 in total which considering I got a nike backpack and trespass jacket I am very happy with that. Was going to wait till end of month to get the jacket but it was such a good buy and he really needs it that I bought it. I also spent £50 on a bracelet for my friend's 50th birthday but I will get £40 of this back from other friends. Aslo got some cards for various occasions and gift wrap that I needed. Spent £45 on petrol and £4 on biccies for work. Hopefully tomorrow will be better . I need to keep spends to a minimum this month. I am trying really hard though!!5 Year plan. Afternoon folks. What a busy couple of days I have had. Thankfully not too many spends.
I was off of normal work yesterday but was at cleaning work to help my friend. I was totally exhausted last night as we were 1 person short and it was a killer shift. I had been up since 5am to take DD to airport so I was wrecked last night and fell asleep.
I have also worked at cleaning today. Came home and sorted through lots more stuff from the loft so I am nearly finished with that and that is a HUGE job done. I now have 2 huge bags of photographs that I want to sort out and get in to albums. That'll take months but am going to see if I can get any cheap albums and get started ASAP.
House is finished and looks so good ( well outside, inside is still a riot). Hopefully scaffolding will come down on Monday and we can get back to normal.
I'm going out this evening to a 60th with my bessie pal so am looking forward to that. We're then going into Glasgow tomorrow for my other friend's 50th lunch and cocktails. I can see me being some state come Monday morning . I need to pay for a gift tonight and also taxis and some drinks but hopefully the majority of tomorrow's is covered by our wee savings fund. I hope it is anyway as I have no more money and DS returns to school on Tuesday so I am back to finding £50 per week for school
Anyway, all is well here and we have probably enough food to do all month. Grocery bill should reduce as DS back at school and DD in Spain for a week. Only 2 weeks until I go away. I will need to get more euros as I gave some to my godson for his holidays and also to my DD before she went away.
So no more news just now. No time to catch up diaries as need to make dinner then head to church and then get ready for party. Am exhausted just thinking about it xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Evening folks. I've just had a fabulous but expensive weekend. That's the first of a 13 month run of 50th birthday celebrations. Gawd help me. I have been convinced to have a party for mine next June so I am feeling rather excited about that. Going to be an expensive year so I need to be really careful. I also have a wedding in Cyprus and DD 21st and DS 18th :eek:. Think I need a 4th job :rotfl:
Well summer is over I reckon. Quilt is back on bed and heating has had to go on tonight. Must admit house heats up very quickly so am hoping that that is the result of all my insulation.
Only 13 days till I go on holiday. I am so looking forward to it.
Unfortunately bank account has taken a hammering and I am overdrawn already. I will try and make up as much as I can before the months end as other than school costs I can hopefully be quite frugal.
I hope everyone is well. I am going to try and have a wee catch up xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Evening folks. Sometimes I read my previous comments and just laugh. I talk such a lot of sh*t at times. I drone on about being frugal and doing well then I go and spend £60 on clothes cos I'm a fat git and the nice new tops I have bought for my hols don't fit me and I also spend £50 on food :eek:I have also bought my lunch every day this week. What is wrong with me
Anyway my girl is home tomorrow after what appears to have been an amazing week in Spain. I thought it might have been a wee bit quiet at the flat for her but they have met a couple of boys and have had a week long party by all accountsI am really happy she has done this as she is beginning to see a different type of life than the one she had with her ex. So great to see her having fun.
I have tried a few times to take selfies and I am so so bad at them that I now post them on facebook and it is causing an absolute riot. I took one tonight and all you can see is right up my nostrils and my mouth is wide open. So funny.
Anyway am away to iron. Deep joy5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

hiya MIT
I love Alcudia - am so jealous would love a few days away.
You are working so hard it will be good for you to just go chill. Your pain manageable again then at the moment? No news about the op?0 -
Never been to Alcudia before Lam but am really looking forward to it.
Got a letter in today from consultant to see me on 3rd Sept. I called them 3 weeks ago and told them I couldn't manage that week as I would be on holiday. I am so so angry. I phoned the secretary and apparently they want an x-ray as it is so long since I was seen that they want to check where the stone is as it has probably moved- No sh*t Sherlock!! Honestly I am so frustrated. This hospital is miles from us and not easy to get to. This lot are playing with my health as I heard from a friend who is a medical secretary that they are giving newer patients the surgery appointments so that their averages are okay. I am sick at this. People just don't seem to matter these days.
Anyway, rant over and whoosh just like that here comes another one. Before the school finished DS told me that his Geography class were going on a field trip and it was £250 but he didn't want to go. Had school on phone today telling me how beneficial it will be and could it be paid ASAP. £250 :eek::eek: by Monday. I give up !!! That's my month's cleaning money spent before I get so yet again I am not going to reach my target .............YAY ! I am actually laughing about it as the harder I try the worse I get :rotfl: and there's not a thing I can do about it. The teacher said there was a trust fund he could apply to to help pay for trip but I said no as I have the money and someone else maybe needs it more than I do. Honestly I think I will just go to bed and pull the covers over my head.
Oh actually NO I WON'T as my DD is coming home today :j:j and I cannot wait to see her. She has fallen out with her mate apparently but hey doesn't everyone when they go away at that age. Can't wait for all her stories and to hear all about this wonderful Irishman she has met *rolleyes*
Also today has been NSD and I have earned extra by doing cleaning. So i'll stop moaning and finish my housework5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Alcudia is lovely MiT, you'll have a wonderful time there.
Ahh, the field trip has well and truly stumped your month, isn't it often the way. Finding the same at the moment, but some are choices I've made - like a holiday booked for next Easter.
Hope you can sort the hospital stuff out soon, that's taking forever and really bad. DS has his first physio appointment for next Friday, but heard nothing from the Podiatrist - which is as important, if not more so if he needs shoe inserts/changes for school. You've reminded me to chase them up
Sounds like DD has been having a ball, they all fall out at that age. Enjoy her homecoming.Back on the DFW Wagon:
CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020
CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019
