  • Ah Lam, if only I had still been in my bed. I was away out to work at 7.50am and had been up since 7. I'm actually shattered but am heading out for chinese with friends tonight so no rest for the wicked :D

DD finished her job today so she is heading out tonight to have a wee night with her workmates ( all guys) She is sad leaving them but I reckon before long one of them will be her boyfriend as both of them have ended their long term relationships so they can see each other. All very casual just now as they don't want to hurt the other parties involved too much but I reckon they will be a couple before we know it. She's upstairs drinking wine and singing away to her tunes.

DS is away laser tagging with his friend and texted me all excited as he was sitting chatting to someone from the Australian cycling team on the train. He is quite a keen cyclist so this will have made his day.

House is surrounded by scaffolding and it is encroaching a bit on my neighbours so I best get a couple bottles of wine and say sorry to them.

I bought 6 copies of the Sun yesterday for the Morrison's vouchers. I will take kids in tomorrow and then again on Sunday to take advantage of the meat offer. I am definitely going to treat us to a steak for the weekend. So I will get £60 of meat for £30 so I will save £27.60 as I had to pay £2.40 for the newspapers. I was telling everyone in work as well

  • ha ha I finished last post rather abruptly as I had to run. Lovely evening with my friends. It's the friend that has motor neurone disease that I was out with. We had a lovely chat and went for an Indian. £15 spent but yum yum and am happy to spend time with my lovely ladies.

Tomorrow I have the workmen coming to do my insulation in my roof and under floor. Also my solar panels are being fitted. I need to go to work but DD will be here, No doubt she will have the hangover from hell but tough luck :rotfl:. I'm then invited to a barbq late afternoon and a 60th at night. I am knackered just thinking about it  but looking forward to it all.

Settled on couch now and feet are up. Hope you are all well xx

  • INOD after today I have a nice quiet week so I will catch up with sleep etc.

Well today I studied like mad to see what I could do with my shopping bill. I must say it is well worth making the effort. I had told you guys about the meat deal so today I took kids with me and bought £30 of meat and got £15 off. I gave one voucher to a friend and I have 2 to use tomorrow. I also had a voucher for a free pack of Leerdammer cheese. On top of that shopitize were giving 40p cashback for the leerdammer so I actually made 40P with that transaction and saved £1.29 :D. Checkoutsmart had fish fusions and chicken fusion meals on for buying to try free so I will get £4.99 back for them BUT I also had a voucher for £2 off the fish fusion so I made £2 from that transaction as well as getting them free :D. They also have seabrooks crisps with £1 cashback on and in Morrisons they are on for £1 so FREE :D. I bought fairy, robinsons juice and wine and got £2 cashback from them. Oh did I mention I did all the cashback twice as made DD sign up and she got them for me too :j. So I have spent £86.93 - £18 in vouchers and will get £ 22.20 in cashback. Actual spend comes down to £46.73 a saving of 53.75% in all. Absolutely bloody delighted with that. Need to go to ASDA tomorrow for a few things as well so further savings will be had. I am buzzing. I did get normal shopping in with that as well. So I will also report in tomorrow with what I get as well :D

Not going to bbq today as the rain is bouncing off of the ground. My solar panels have been fitted and are now functioning, loft has been insulated and under floor insulation has also been done. I am however freezing :rotfl:. Not sure if panels are actually making any power as it is so dull :(. Never mind I saved loads on shopping :D

I am going to the 60th though as my friend is coming with me and I am really looking forward to that. My house is a riot as everything is all over the place and I really should get off of here and sort it out.

  • Remember I said I was going to the 60th tonight? Well I was on facebook a wee while ago and noticed that no-one was talking about the party. The family involved were all going on about an engagement party they were at last night and what a great night it was. I was sat thinking dearie me they will be exhausted with 2 nights in a row until I noticed a comment about how they would be doing it all again in 2 weeks time. Hmmm thought I and hunted out the invitation. So PJ'S now on, heating on and quite thankful I'm going nowhere. My pal laughed her head off when I called her to tell her not to bother polishing her dancing shoes as we were going nowhere :rotfl:. I think this week has been just too busy for me and I have lost my mind haha

Oh no MiT, can't believe you missed the party! But you need the rest and what better way than a PJ eve. :)

Great you've got your solar panels on, I think they still make some energy even on cloudy days with the reading up I've done about them.

    Your shopping-fest was brilliant :T
    Back on the DFW Wagon:

    CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020
    CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019
    Loan - £12,063.84 as at 4/1/18
  • Party is in 2 weeks time Ali so we can still go. We have used 6 units since the panels have gone on and I can't get on the site to see what my normal usage averages at. Today was really really wet and dull so probably not a good one to check against. We'll see how it goes in the next few months.

I forgot to confess to £15 spend in mcd's as kids were ravenous so I got them a treat. I got £430 extra in my wages this month but that has already been spent on washing machine and fridge unfortunately. My proposed plan for August is to NOT go into overdraft and also to pay off the £560 I am aiming for every month. I do have 4 extra cleaning shifts with my friend so that'll bring in at least £200, my minimums are £255.34 so I need to find a further £105. Hopefully that will be doable. I will try and pay my cleaning money each week as well as the £200 and that will cover it. It will be a tough one. I did however get CSA money yet again so that's great.

I still have DS's uniform to buy and I reckon I will be at least £120. So belt tightened again. Interest £106 this month so at least down by £20 on last month. Not as much as I'd hoped but then I had put that £2k for insulation onto my card. Going to concentrate on ASDA card as it has highest interest rate. If I try really really hard I could maybe clear it by Christmas. Let's do this !! I'm away to pay this weeks cleaning money off of it just now
