Happy holiday time :j:j
So pleased the maintenance is on it's way and Edinburgh is sounding great.
It'll be a great psychological boost to get rid of those 2 little balances as well, ab fab.
A tidy sum to come from the extra work too.
Sympathies on the sad news, difficult times indeed.

What a lovely afternoon. Sun is shining and all is well so far
Been at work but only cleaned small house today. £20 earned so have paid that off of CC. £20 paid off and £43 from total. I love how so much comes off end total on snowball. It makes me sunny
Went to Aldi as needed cold meat and fruit. Bought DS a mini computer for his bike as he is cycling lots just now so I reckon seeing what he's achieving exercise wise will encourage him. so £6.99 for that and £32.17 for shopping. We have tonnes of fruit now though and enough lunch stuff and healthy snacks for all week. Also spent £47 on petrol but should keep me going for 2 weeks whilst I am off.
Going to tell DS that I have £200 for Edinburgh which needs to include travel and all entertainment. I will include him in the budgeting so he takes responsibility for it as well as me. I will lift £200 cash so I know exactly what I have spent, minus of course what train tickets cost.
I'm hoping the rest of the week will be NSD but we'll wait and see.
Hope everyone is well xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

OOFT !! Spendy day today folks. Bought train tickets to Edinburgh and they were £54 and that was using DS's young Scot railcard which saved us £10. So now at £150 for spends whilst in Edinburgh. I have counted up what we will spend roughly though and we should manage on that. Hopefully get to do the bus tour as well and apparently the bus tickets can have discounts on the back of them for other attractions. We'll go with the flow as I just can't find any vouchers for anything online that we want to do
. I may book castle before we go. I will double check with DS that he wants to go around it again first of all.
Had a lovely day out today with DD. I've hardly seen her recently as she has been so busy workwise so it was really nice to spend some time with her. I spent £6 on flowers for cemetery. Nearly Mum's anniversary and must admit I am very tearful just now. I'll be fine though but just too many memories of the time leading to her death. We then went to primark and I was £14.50 in there on totally indulgent items for my holidays that I really could have done without ( but they make me happy) . Then £21.29 in home bargains. Again none of the purchases were absolutely necessary but each and every thing I bought will be used and nothing will be wasted so I am not going to feel guilty
Dinner is on and DS is just appearing back from a long bike ride with my brother and niece so I best go and be Mummy for a while xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Sounds like you are going to have a fab time in Edinburgh. Dont feel guilty about the spends - quality time with your kids is far more important. x0

I am so full I could burst . Dinner was lush. HM stew, boiled potatoes, hm roast potatoes and broccoli. We all inhaled it as we were very hungry. Not a scrap of waste was left. I cooked extra potatoes but I am going to mash them and make HM fish cakes for my dinner tomorrow. I also have a salmon pate recipe somewhere I am going to try out as it is free on slimming world plan.
I have warned DS that tomorrow is gardening day and he is not to make any plans. That went down well. It is to be really nice here again tomorrow so we will take the opportunity and get it all done and looking nice for the rest of the summer. It really needs some professional help tbh but I cannot afford it.
I am going to start looking at prices for washing machines as mine is on its last legs. It is ruining clothes as rust spots are appearing on some items. DD has a beautiful white top which cost her £40 and it has 2 huge stains on it. I have it steeping in bleach solution but I'm not overly hopeful. I have had these stains on other things too. The machine is about 15 yrs old though so I reckon I just need to bite the bullet and get one. I will get an additional £200 cleaning money in August so I can hopefully use that towards one. I also need a fridge. My milk keeps going off and the small ice box at the top of fridge keeps filling up with ice. Ho hum. Happy days .............NOT !!5 Year plan. Washing machine and fridge ordered  nearly £400 for both but includes delivery and installation. Getting delivered on Tuesday any time from 7am to 7pm. Went through quidco so cashback of 2% minimum. I could cry at the spend but mine are just knackered and my washing isn't clean and my food is not keeping fresh. I really have no choice. I am going to pay them off over this month and next as I have bought them on my debit card so I will end up overdrawn so I need to get rid ASAP. Belts will be tightened yet again
. Is it very sad that I am excited about a new washing machine? :rotfl:
