Hi Ali am shattered tonight. Not going to make the cake again as although the lass who made them for the club's tasted nicer I still wasn't fussed.
Maintenance has not arrived but CSA have confirmed they have it and it will be paid in a couple of days..........PHEW!!
Because it has been confirmed I have gone ahead and booked a hotel for DS and I to have a wee overnight in Edinburgh next week. DD and I have both got holidays etc to look forward to and DS had nothing so him and I will head there on the train next Thursday and stay over until the Friday and we can then fit in everything we want to do. It will no doubt cost me a fortune but I feel bad that he has no treats lined up and it will be great to spend time with him. I got a deal for holiday inn for £79 for the both of us with breakfast included. I am happy with that.I reckon we will get the train through. DS informs me he can get his ticket for £20 with his railcard so I will check that out tomorrow.
I earned £50 tonight and won £25 on lottery last night but I am going to pay that off of CC and use maintenance money for trip and keeping us going for rest of month. I will do Edinburgh as cheap as I can. I have tasked DS with finding out ticket prices for all the places we want to visit and over the weekend I will see if I can find any money off vouchers. We will eat cheaply whilst we are there as well.
Just paid the £75 off of CC and £116.09 has come off of total. Loving it
I have had a day of horrible news today. 2 of my lunch buddies had met up with another lunch buddy today who has retired and apparently she is in a really bad state health wise, She did leave on health grounds but is skeletal now. Just got off the phone about that and turned round and my colleague who I work alongside was in an awful agitated state as he had just had a call from the nurses and his civil partner of over 30 years was being moved to the hospice and tonight my friend has been on the phone and her Dad is really poorly. I was in tears today after he left as all the horrible memories came rushing back about my Mum as it was 2 years ago just now that she was in the hospice and 2 weeks before she died. I'm fine now but had a horrible time in work. Sad times. I am just so thankful that it's not me going through it all.
So I am now heading to bed. I'm exhausted but happy to have earned some money and paid it off5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Hey hon, sounds like a case of it never rains but it pours. Make sure that part of your trip lets you recharge your batteries. Also, I seem to remember buying an Edinburgh pass that allowed entry to lots of attractions. Maybe worth looking into.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Don't forget if you have Tesco vouchers to use up they can go on entry for some of the attractions. They also cover Pizza Express, just swap them online and you'll get codes to use.
Wave at me when you're wandering through Edinburgh0 -
ha ha Moomin I will look mighty silly just waving walking through lol but hey ho you watch for me and I'll wave away
Unfortunately I don't have a tesco so no vouchers. Been looking online for discounts and can't find anything. I'll spend more time on Monday looking and see what I can find. I'm now off of work for 16 whole days :j:j
I have lots of plans. I want to clean house form top to bottom and get rid of all my junk. I want to sort out garden. I need to clean out car and wash it. I want to catch up on all the telly and films I want to catch up and I want to sit on my a$$ and read lots of books. And obviously we have Edinburgh as well. I'm really looking forward to all of the above.
Lovely blue skies here after a horrible rainy day. Hopefully weather will pick up again as it's been a bit naff.
My friend has asked me to do 6 dates for cleaning so that will bring in another £300 between now and September. I will do my utmost to pay it all off of the debt.
Now I have been studying the snowball ( as is my habit) and the 2 accounts where I have done the BT's are almost paid off. 1 has £2.37 on it and the other £355. Although my snowball tells me to pay off the BT card I am going to concentrate on these 2 after my next bill comes in. It's a psychological thing and I just want them to be at £0. I'll keep them both open for any future 0% offers.
I have a spreadsheet I use for my finances and it's very simple but sufficient for my needs. I have added a wee bit about 0% dates running out so I can keep a better eye on things. Still waiting on Santander getting back to me about their 0% BT.

Moomin he is 16 and geeky. Not into sports or anything. We will definitely do the museum and parliament buildings for free
PLMBL what a pity we will not be there at same time. We could have had a coffee OR ds could have babysat and e could have hit the town lol
I got a thing in work today which could have got me half price zoo tickets. Thankfully neither of us are interested anyway5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

I like your thinking!!
We will be doing the zoo. My 2 are a lot younger than your DS though, and it's all they think of when Edinburgh is mentioned! XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

You could try Camera Obscura - it's an optical illusions place and is really good fun.
If he can pass for 15 you can get a kids go free ticket for the train which will get him in there for free too. That applies to the Zoo too and a few other places, so it's worth getting some kind of train ticket that applies to if you can.
The People's Story museum looks like it might be fun. The Royal Mile also has the Museum of Childhood which he might find interesting - lots of "retro" game stuff if I remember rightly.
Try and find a discount for one of the bus tours too, they're quite fun and there's loads of walking tours which are cheap/free. If he's into Harry Potter I'm pretty sure there's some kind of tour that draws on that.0 -
Moomin that's fab. We both love Harry Potter. Camera Obscura is one of the items on our list. We wanted to go last time we were through but by the time we got round the castle we had no time.
We're coming through by train so I'll check that out. I'll check out the other things you were saying. I have e-mailed parliament buildings for a tour so fingers crossed we get that.
Hotel includes buffet breakfast so that's fab. Day 1 I will take lunch with me from the house and just have pub grub for dinner. We'll just get Greggs or something on the Friday and dinner when we get home or into Glasgow. I'm really looking forward to it now
DS has informed me that he has a junior rail card so I might head to local station tomorrow for advice on tickets and see what they can offer.5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
