  • To pay £1 to save £4 (or recover £3) is good business sense.
Why are people so keen to line the pockets of ebay? Haven't they got enough money already for hosting a shop window?

Ok mate. Igive up. Just send the request thru again and ill accept. Haha. :D
  • So why don't you? what's your problem with it?
  • Ill admit i dont like that ebay own paypal. So they take two fees. That does bother me. They should offer a discount and charge maybe 7.5% if seller accepts paypal.

Firsly, like the fees or not, thats the cost of doing business on eBay, and to attempt to thwart paying those fees is theft.

Secondly, if you need to avoid paying your bills in full in order to do business, that is NOT good business sense.

How do you feel about the cost of petrol? or a loaf of bread? Are they fairly priced? Why is one place cheaper than another?

ebay will have already taken a listing fee which will more than cover the cost of putting the pics & description on a server somewhere. and that SAME fee would have been fine if the transaction had been cancelled for any other reason. So why the 10%?

Thats surely like saying oh I don't like Tesco's garage because when I buy fuel and food, Tescos get two lots of money from me. Yes, but they're providing two totally different services - petrol and groceries. Same with eBay - An auction site, and a payment processing site.

No ebay & paypal being owned by the same people is not relevant.

It he doesn't like Tesco, he can shop at Asda or Lidl or Aldi etc. Where's the competition to ebay ?

There isn't any, but that isn't eBay's fault.

I dislike the company, but I don't think the two fees part is unfair when they're providing two services.

    Monopoly then.

So people can either try to buck the system to save £4 (not worth chasing up), or just bend over and take it.

Yes, or they can try to avoid the fees by being thieves.
