Seller askng me to cancel transaction even though im happy??!!

Hi. I recently purchased some trainers for £50. There adidas. Anyway the seller contacted me today asking if i was happy and i said yes. He then replied asking if i would cancel the transaction, but keep the shoes. Im confused. Is this some sort of scam? It says "only cancel transaction if you have been eefubded. But i havnt, i still have the shoes and im happy with them.

The seller wants to evade fees.

Decline the cancellation, if you ignore it, it will go in the sellers favour in 7 days.
  • I dont understand, if i accept it dont i get a refund? If i click cancel, i get my money back and free trainers. Not saying il do it but it seems abit stupid?!?

No, no refund. It's purely for the sellers benefit. Not sure why you think they're treating you to some free trainers.
  • Thats why i think its a scam. Because he is not asking me to return them. ?!???
  • What the seller is trying to do is to tell ebay that the sale wasn't completed so that they can reclaim their final value fees.
This doesn't mean that you have to be refunded or return the shoes.

This can be legimately done if for example you received the shoes and then returned them for a refund, or if they got lost in the post before you received them.

Personally, I would decline the cancellation and then just ignore any further correspondance from the seller.

If you agree to cancel then the seller gets his Ebay fees back. You get nothing back. If you click do not agree he does not get his fees back. If you ignore it he will automatically get his fees back after 7 days. Did you pay via checkout? Not sure how he can put through a cancellation if you did, I didn't think it was possible. If you're tempted to help him fiddle Ebay and they pick up on it you could get suspended
  • So what would happen if i accepted the cancelation and sent the shoes back. Would i get a refund that way? Just curious now. I think i understand what hes trying to do. Would i get a refind if i sent them back?
  • What if i sent him back a pair of old sweaty trainers. Lol.

You don't need to send anything back, he doesn't want you to do anything but click cancel.

Ignore his emails and enjoy the shoes.
