Are you asking me to knock next door right now? It's almost
    Midnight!

I haven't spoke to anyone I know about freeview, no. That's why I didn't mention it. I like in a big city and so should receive it.

I thought that I explained, but obviously not, the two people I phoned at virgin worked for virgin. When I moved in they said that I couldn't receive it. The thing is, this wasn't what my query was about so am confused as to why this isn't helping myself? I just wanted to know if anyone knew anything about Internet TV such as apple etc and if they stream freeview? The obvious answer is no, but have had some great suggestions from some other friendly people. These I have thanked.

Oh and closed, I have blocked you so I can't see your abuse any more.

That was supposed to be a joke, but went over your head!

I am unlikely to knock round to my neighbours and ask if they know anything about Internet TV. I thought I would ask a techy forum and see. I was right with some people (who I have thanked) and wrong in others (closed) who enjoy being aggressive and upsetting new members. If you're saying that this forum is useless and that there is no point asking these people questions, then that doesn't bode well for your respect of other people in this forum. Personally, I hold out hope as there are some really knowledgeable and friendly people out there.

Killing me with your humour :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I asked you if you had asked them about their ability to receive Freeview
but realistically if you have not talked to other neighbours(on the same side of the road as you) about their ability to get freeview
, as you are well aware since you can read unlike others apparently
Ok "closed" you seem to not be able to read. I have bought a NEW Ariel, and it doesn't matter I can't get signal where I live.
As for the above in your last post in orange then you are sadly deranged , I have the utmost respect for the people on this forum who try to help others in their own time without asking for thanks, sometimes they get things wrong and I have to admit so do I , but you really have got the wrong side of how things work, I would seriously get the chip off of your shoulder, show some humility and then sort out your TV problems , then you may have something else to occupy your tiny mind rather than looking for faults in others.
    This time "I am out"

Seriously, get a grip. Internet is serious business springs to mind!

You said that the forum people on here won't know as much about Internet TV as my neighbours (as this is what my query was about, that is obviously what you meant). I didn't understand why I should go door knocking asking my neighbours about Internet TV. That seems strange to me. So I would ask some nice people on a forum. If you think that people on here won't know as much, that's your mistake. As I have had 3 really good and helpful people reply.

You have taken quotes, don't understand why, as they back up what I have said. I don't get signal where I live. But that isn't the issue, and what I wanted to find out was a way of streaming freeview.

Again, using bullying language. "Stupid" and "tiny brain".
Nice work. I have not said anything nasty, unless was replying to someone asking if they actually read the issue. I, on the other hand, have had abuse.

At least the people I have thanked that gave their time to make some great suggestions makes this forum worthwhile. Those who use this forum to rant and bully others to make their life seem worthwhile is another story altogether.

Where did I say that ?

Once again where did I say that ?
Edited here to split the lines

Thanks so much, I have just managed to try this and I can stream this on my ipad. Unsure how long it will last though and will hope an internet TV box (with freeview channels) gets invented in the mean time.

Of course, I have a TV licence as I am watching live TV albeit on the internet!! :)

I live in France and last year I lost an old Sky box (due to a lightning bolt that hit the house!) that I was using with a portable TV in my kitchen. I have another Sky box (no subscription) that I use with my main TV to access the free channels, but have been using Filmon on my laptop when I want to watch TV in the kitchen for ages now. Now and again, it freezes for a few seconds but that's the only problem I have ever had with it. My FIL who lives in Cyprus told me about Filmon and it has proved really useful.

The folks are suggesting you speak to neighbours to see if they can get Freeview or not, as many of us are finding it difficult to credit that you're in London and can't get Freeview. I would have thought coverage would be rather good in the capital.

Look around your area - how many regular TV aerials? Which way are they pointing? Any significant number suggests you CAN get Freeview in your area, surely?

    Lynzog - This -
I'm not going into the £250 aerial part, that's being dealt with as am going through the process of a refund.

Would have been very useful information much earlier on. This is what people were bugging you about. Also, closed seemed to make the point once, that if you want to watch/record TV live, you need a licence. He wasn't abusive. You said you wanted TV via internet, didn't mention you had a licence, and you didn't like being queried.
closed is not trolling you. You are accusing him of things, and he has a right to reply. Just as you have a right to reply.
You're not being stalked. You're being replied to in one thread, by someone who was originally trying to help you.
You seem to have problems with satellite dishes in your area. Are you in a rented or owned 1st floor flat? It may be that you could get permission from your landlord/developer or whatever to have a dish installed, considering the reception issues, and unavailability of Virgin.
The box you are waiting for will not be invented. It's up to broadasters whether they want to stream their channels, and as you've experienced, most don't. What TVCatchup and others do is kindof illegal, as they're distributing other people's property (even though it's available free) so it would be very unwise to rely on these channels as your primary source of TV.
