This house needs a thorough dust. I hate dusting.

OH and I did wills about 10 years ago, but we both need to update them and my solicitor has retired. Imagining a worst case scenario, there is a slight but very real possibility my brothers would inherit and I can't have that.

Helen Jelly, thinking of you and your OH. I do hope the cause of his pain is diagnosed and treated very soon. You seem to have been dealing with this for a long time, and last night I couldn't get you out of my thoughts.

Healing vibes for LW's mouth ulcers. If they don't clear up, please get them checked - just in case.

    Sticks for Skint's BD.

Warm fleecy blankets for SickDog and Sparrer's dog, on which to snooze and heal. (Mrs Dog was so chuffed we came home last night she leapt up on the bed. Twice. Bad dog. This in addition to taking off the other day when she should have hopped into the car. Very, very bad dog.)
    Better is good enough.

Hi all; first and foremost, lots of healing vibes for all the poorly pets; I see Sparrer's dog is on the list along with SickDog and Mrs Dog. I'll do a proper healing candle for them all later on.

it has, as predicted, been a hugely hectic week. On the plus side they are lovely, and sweet. This is a good thing - it appears I might not be clear for take off for some considerable time. I may well be involved in a Nativity Production  Ive been in them; I've been the mother of performers (including a very snippy boot-clad 'angel' who seemed to think that her raison d'etre was to kick the adjacent boot-clad 'angel! (It was a fair, and equal, 'fight'!) but I have NEVER been called upon to produce them. Or cast them, a role, I anticipate, fraught with difficulty!
All I can say is "Sooner You Than Me":D I think I'd sooner do a production of the Mabinogion with an entirely canine cast than what you're taking on, you very brave lady.:rotfl:

I know I am biased but I do feel very strongly about this. DH wasn't keen originally but once he was having tests, his mum bought him a post office DIY one. He told me to write it and he would sign it. And aren't we so glad he did! And one of the first things I then did was got my own updated and put instructions for guardianship and a trust for the children. Just in case.

Even though most of our stuff was joint, and we were married. It still would have been impossibly difficult to deal with at an already distressing time. Lecture over :o
I totally agree. Do it before it becomes necessary, then it's all done and dusted. Ours are pretty straight-forward - whoever goes first leaves everything to t'other one, and if we both go, it all gets divided up between a list of 10 charities. Sorted! We had it witnessed by some friends of Mr LW's, a very pleasant Sikh couple. Mr LW used to work with the chap years ago, but they've kept in touch, and came to our wedding. The lady makes a-maz-ing onion bhajis, too, btw.:o

ETA Thanks for the healing vibes for the mouth ulcers; I've had to resort to my old lower plate (thank goodness I kept the old ones). They pale into insignificance compared to what poor Mr Jelly is putting up with though; hoping to goodness something can be done for the poor chap very, very soon.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    Hello all!
Back from holiday, house wasn't too bad, although I was cleaning the loo within 5 minutes of getting home! Have spent the week dot to dotting and washing and drying mountains, why do my kids think it's ok for me to come home to two overflowing laundry baskets???????
Anyway, will be back next week, ready to start again, although still clearing gibble when I can. Went back to work this week too, so need to fit that in too!

    Hi folks

I have a WHOLE day off!! it is the 3rd one this year, so I have made the most of it, didn't get up till 7.45am unheard of for me!

Listed loads of 'items of interest' on eby as free listing weekend as Dusty said.

    Cleaned the floors
Hoovered round, emptied the bagless thingy.
Recyled loads of 'stuff' into relevant bins.
    WM is on the go

Love the hat pigpen, hope which ever youngster it is for, loves it as well.

Not too sure what to do with this afternoon as I am so use to cramping everything I have to do in to a short space of time owing to various works.

Valli~ ohh err, sounds like you have your work cut out on the play, just wait for the mothers to arrive to 'tell you' their little DD / DS should have been the lead part etc etc...............I'll watch your reports with interest.

I redid my Will in the summer as I needed to make a couple of changes, £120, stored at solicitors, I have a copy, others know where to find it when the time comes.

Thank you so much for your kind thoughts re the muttley, and for the candle. That was really lovely of you. He's still very sleepy but managed a bit of breakfast which is a major step in the right direction.

Re wills, as there's only me and I have two children it has been easy to write one on a shop-bought will form, but would advise anyone with a more complicated scenario to go to a solicitor (sorry, not keen on so-called professional will-writing services, in my experience - friend's husband - they get half a day's training and are then let loose on the public). Many charities will do it for a donation or a small legacy, they have fully trained legal experts. As has been mentioned November is low-cost will month in many areas, details on the home pages. Sorry, don't know how to do links :o

Been at a meeting all morning but managed to do the bedroom, landing and bathroom when I got back, and before lunch. Kitchen gets a s&s, then minutes to type up, printing to be done, and filing.

Have a sunny rest of the day :)
