It's an Okay laptop but I wouldn't go with AMD because Intel seem to be crushing AMD at the moment. The Core 2 Duo is probably the best CPU soloution around.
I remember when Intel used to be rubbish (Pentium 4):AFree Sims = Free 50ps yum yum.

What a ridiculous statement.
It's a laptop and a very balanced specification at that. The CPU is only ONE component of a PC, yes it makes a difference but not as much as Intel would like you to think. You could have a top end Core 2 Duo in there and it probably wouldn't make any real noticeable difference as you're limited to what it can do because of the graphics card. Unless you pay considerably more for a better graphics card, most laptops are easily good enough surfing/office machines.
The Turion 64 chip is an excellent CPU, low power which means you won't hear the fan very often and your battery life is better. Make the most of AMD's miss fortune at the moment and save yourself some money.

Seems a good all rounder laptop, sure you can pay more and get a better laptop but reviews on this are fairly favourable and the price seems good. At the end of the day you get what you paid for.0

AMD v Intel believe me for 98% of PC users (email, internet, Word etc) you won't notice any difference for similar chips.
Far too many people (including myself sometimes) fall for the marketing messages and they're all pretty much crap/lies.
It's a good system, dell prices seem to be very good at the moment. The only downside I can see is Vista, I've got it and it's rubbish (far too many USB conflict problems). If you can get XP instead if Vista go with that.
I've just bought a new dell, great deal on a desktop but would only have done so if it came with Xp which it did.0 -
I took Vista rubbish off, had it twice now and I cant get 1. display in widescreen (newish screen and display adaptor, spent hours with no luck not a pc newbie either), 2. scanner wont work (poor driver support)
I avoid Vista like the plague. Thankfully had a dual boot and removed Vista and use XP0 -
Is this still working? I type the evalue code in on the site and it takes me a weird login page.0

Ah, it's worked now.0
