    using backup restore and backed up all ticked boxes which it recomended on fujitsu;

    Back the pics up separately. Put them all in a single folder and burn the folder/data to a DVD.
    Or if they are already all within the Pictures folder, then burn that folder.

    Oh yes...it's the Vista Home Basic machine running on 512MB RAM. 2 x 256MB RAM.

    The 1GB RAM will certainly make a difference and the clean install even more so.

    Did everything windows ticked, and it took 2 full dvd,s and ages.Didn,t realise there was that much on?
    Don,t know if restore discs were on Pc? I,m sure I saw them once;
    Then, unticked all boxes,except pictures, as his are in 1 folder within pics, and burnt that seperately.

    tried all the F keys Lot of F ing going on here:-)
    Cannot even get into safety mode on his?
    On mine setup,/ bios is F2 and F8 for safety mode:
    Same OS but obviously different machines;

    Turn the machine off completely, then turn it on with the Power button and press F8 as soon as you've done so.

    in boot mode node, now, used F 12. ready

    So choose USB drive, and confirm. Does it boot of the USB drive and in to MS-DOS(Black screen with white writing)?
