I've done it literally every month since we started TTC. Every month I start testing 2-3 days before AF is due because of it. Partner tells me off a bit saying its just going to be on my mind more if I'm spending £10 on tests every month, and I need to wait until AF day. But I guess I want to see that BFP ASAP! I've read through this thread a little and I can see its a common theme.
I ordered a load of internet cheapies- if I am ever lucky enough to get a + on one I will then go and buy a more expensive test, maybe you could order some and use them for when you test early (:rotfl: we should be telling eachother off for early testing but we are only human after all!!)0 -

Where is a good place to buy?
There's a pharmacist a few doors down from me, one of those small local ones, and I'm beginning to think they recognise me and know what I'm going to buy now :embarasse0 -

I ordered a load of cheap ones on Amazon, they are just the IC cheap strip ones that you dip in a pot of wee. I can't remember which company I ordered them from, there are mixed reviews about some of them though so maybe just have a quick look at the reviews before you order any. Some of the ic tests do have quite a high sensitivity which would could (potentially) pick up a + earlier than others. (The sensitivity of a pregnancy test is described on the packaging as mIU/ml (milli-International Unit per millilitre). Pregnancy tests range in sensitivity from 10mIU/ml to 40 mlU/ml. The lower the number, the more sensitive the test, and the earlier it can detect pregnancy. )0 -
Hey ladies
Sorry I haven't been on for a while I forgot my password then forgot which email address I had signed up with! All sorted now though!
Not much happening with me im CD30 but don't track OV so not sure how many days PO I am. FF changed my OV date this month from 16th Dec to the 23rd Dec without any reason or changes on my part. So I'm really unsure this month lol.
I don't know if I'm symptom spotting as I seem to do every month but this month I have completely and utterly gone off Pepsi- with no known reason I just can't stand to even look at it let alone put it in my mouth. I have also been a little hormonal particular Christmas Week - again it could just be the stress of the time of year but it's not like me to get so snappy. I also seem to be peeing a lot more & for the past 2 or 3 days I have had an ache in my stomach - not cramp but just a dull constant pain. I also still have EWCF (sorry if too much info). AF arrived on the 6th last month so I'm expecting that it will be around the same this month. I have done 2 tests but both have been BFN & one of my apps says I still have 2 days before I'm due to test - technology has totally messed my up this month!
Anyways that's all from me lol
Can I guess 5 BFP's for January please.
Congratulations on an BFP's I've missed and hugs to those who need them

When we first started TTC I would symptom spot like a crazy lady and often had myself convinced I was pregnant, doing tests from as little as 5DPO and then would get myself upset when AF arrived. It was getting too much so now I try not to really, I do tend to do a test a day before AF is due but try to avoid SS as it can really take over and get you stressed out which is the last thing you need!
You run the risk of getting false negatives when you test too early as well, so it really is best to wait until AF is due and try to just get on as normal until then. If you do have an urge to POAS then I get my ovulation and pregnancy tests from home health, much cheaperNew House... New Mortgage! February 2017: £144,000

I've read online that a good way to stop using too many expensive "early" tests is to imagine that you are literally peeing on a £5 note.
Going to order some ICs from amazon today! Then I can POAS to my hearts content. Cause I'm cool.0 -
Frankieloo - how are you doing today? Have you been tempted to do another test yet?
Welcome magpie, like Think Pink, I have several internet cheapies for those moments of madness in testing
Kellykins I am definitely going to have to go backwards on the list. Could I now be added as CD5 thanks.
TMI perhaps so don't read this bit if squeamish: I was sceptical about the doctor classing the 'spotting' last week as CD1 but today have passed a lot more red blood which seemed quite lumpy and stringy. Not sure what is going on with my body as that makes it just 13 days between CD1 of the last month and what I will now class as CD1 this month.0 -
Tia - that sounds very frustrating. I wonder what's causing that. Perhaps the first spotting wasn't a period? and this is the real one? I dunno, fingers crossed it gets sorted out for you.
AFM - been so tempted to test again but don't have anymore tests in the house so managing not to just yet. Have got to go to Asda shortly though so the resolve could break v.soon!:A26/5/14 - Baby Neve - left footprints on my heart0 -
Do what you do as normal.
Firstly because if you're in the 2ww or awaiting ov its not going to affect anything, and secondly its not good to have any type of urine infection in pregnancy anyway
I don't want to "Give medical advice" BUT don't want anyone else to be in the situation i was a couple of weeks ago!
Dr's will usually prescribe either Amoxcilillin or trimethoprim for urine infections. My GP prescribed Trimethoprim... i was in the 2ww. When I got home, i had no instructions for how to take in the box so just googled - I saw everywhere that trimethoprim must NOT be taken when TTC as it hinders the absorbtion of Folic Acid in your body which can have adverse effects of course in EARLY pregnancy. I called two pharmacies who both said "yeah it'll be fine to take if your GP knows ur ttc"... which she did. I then rang GP back who called me within 5 mins to say "no, i made a mistake, i should never have prescribed this as ur ttc and it can cause problems"
So if you have a wee infection, please please TRIPLE check that the GP knows ur TTC and then still read the packaging etc!! Whilst i was in that appt with my GP, we spoke at length about my hubbys impending SA so she was under NO illusions about us TTC..... This will probably get pulled but its important so wanted to post in case Boat Girl ends up going to gp tomorrow :ABaldrick, does it have to be this way?
