Official Trying to Conceive - Thread 10

I've had a very confusing morning. AF isn't due for a week but for some reason had the stupid urge to test. I know, I know it's way too early but I couldn't wait. Anyway, the control line showed up first and then a faint and darkening pink second line. I stood there for minutes looking at it, put it down for a bit and was wondering whether to show it to OH as it looked undeniably positive but after about 5 minutes it faded and disappeared completely and now the test looks as negative as they get. Weird. I'm assuming its negative but at best I could be 8dpo so still very early. Just a bit if a roller coaster. Anyone had this kind of disappearing act before?

Daisie- I have to say I think you're doing the right thing- its the same approach that Im going for and I have to say although sometimes I feel a bit like I have no control/ knowledge on where I am in my cycle, I am not feeling too stressed about the whole thing which I think is important.

Frankieloo- Ive never had that so can't help much- but I think you should wait a few days and test again and then see what the result is.

Can I ask a question, while awaiting bfp or af but after ovulation what do you do with regard to medicine? I am suffering with cystitis I think, but am loathe to take anything for it just in case I am pg but is that a bit silly? I am suffering with it and typically it's the weekend so doctors is shut. Have been drinking lots of water and cranberry.

Do what you do as normal.

Firstly because if you're in the 2ww or awaiting ov its not going to affect anything, and secondly its not good to have any type of urine infection in pregnancy anyway

I'm not really sure what the correct answer is but with regards to everything else you shouldn't have while pregnant I'm a believer in not acting like I'm pregnant until I know I am if that makes sense. But it is easy to worry about everything you do isn't ? Hope it eases up soon. Hugs x

Thanks, yes you are both right. Will get some over the counter stuff later and if still around after the weekend will go the doctor.

Maybe mention to the pharmacist that you're TTC incase theres anything you really should avoid.

So how you deal with symptom spotting?

I've done it literally every month since we started TTC. Every month I start testing 2-3 days before AF is due because of it. Partner tells me off a bit saying its just going to be on my mind more if I'm spending £10 on tests every month, and I need to wait until AF day. But I guess I want to see that BFP ASAP! I've read through this thread a little and I can see its a common theme.
