codemonkey wrote: »Hi Laila. NHS guidlines are that you should wait a year (6 months if you're over 35), and this is the first month of opks. Also the cd21 blood test time is today so I'd suggest hanging fire until you have more information (I've found that GPs are more helpful if you go in fully informed). There are some things you can try in the meantime - Vitamin b6, you could try soy isoflavones from cd2-5 or cd3-7 and agnus castus and/or maca root are hormone balancing. You can get these otc at health shops.
Thank for taking the time to reply Code. I know the guidelines are to wait a year but my thoughts were if I have an LP defect then am I just wasting time waiting that long before I try to do something about it.
I am also getting really angry at the savage boob pain and tiredness that I seem to have as soon as I ov until AF. I am just fed up with feeling ill for at least a week every month and all for nothing. I'm feeling very sorry for myself this morning and feel like a complete cow for feeling this way because I know compared to others on here I am only just starting my TTC journey.
I think I may give the B6 a go, I need to feel like I am doing something to help myself. How much am I meant to take and when should I begin taking it?? CD1? I already take Pregnacare so I assume the B6 is as well as?0 -
Hi to all the newbies
Sorry I haven't contributed much this week, I'm currently in the middle of a week off work and today is the first day I haven't woke up feeling stressed and anxious. I actually feel 'normal'. I was having a tough few weeks before my holiday, so its nice to be back to my old self.
As I was feeling like unwell, I decided not to add even more pressure to myself by using OPK's this month and we also haven't been bd'ing to a calendar.
I agree with everyone about the teenage pregnancies, what really frustrates me is that we work hard to get the peak of our careers to that we can actually afford to have children, then there are others who have never done a days work in their life.:mad:0 -
Hi all,
I have been MIA from the thread for long.
Hugs too all who need them. Wishes to everyone who had BFP's.
AFM, had my first FS appointment in August then all tests like ultrasound, HSG, bloods to check all hormones etc
Then concluded I have medium to moderate endo and I had a laparoscopy yesterday. Resting at home currently.
My AMH and hormone results show that my ovarian reserve is very less and hence I was referred to IVF straight away.
First IVF appointment on February 4th.
Code, can you please remove me from this thread as I want to move to 12+ thread as some of them over their must be going through IVF and I may get more support.
Thanks for all the help and support this thread has provided.Saving goal for BTL mortgage - 28600 / 60000 ( July 2021) , 37600/60000 (December 2021) , 39300 / 60000 (august 2022) , 41000/60000 ( January 2023)0 -

There's someone else on this thread who takes B6, can't remember her username. It's in her signature though; she took 50mg everyday and then upped to 100mg a day and it helped to lengthen her LP.0 -
Just de-lurking to say LailaP my LP was never more than 9 days and it was a constant worry to me. I am now cautiously pg, so I guess it's not neccessarily a show stopper. Just wanted to spread some hope. WD x0

Thanks wangdoodle
I have booked a doctors appointment for next week. I know it might be too early re TTC but I can't go on with this constant boob pain which today is probably upsetting me more than the not being preggers yet.
I will see if there is anything they can do for that and also mention the LP. I don't know if any of the meds I am on can affect things so it's probably worth just having a chat even if he tells me to go away and come back after a year.
I think I just need my mind putting at rest if nothing else.
Anyway enough moaning from me. I really hope everyone else is doing OK and for anyone having a rubbish time that things get better soon.0 -

For what it's worth I've been having nausea, sore boobs and extreme tiredness too. I mentioned it to the gp who said its a sign of progesterone in the system, which isn't a bad thing in itself as you want it when you are pregnant, but there's not a great deal they can do about it. She said she could give me something for the nausea, but it's not really compatible with pregnancy so it would be worth trying to do without it. On the other hand, the acupuncturist I see said that she could treat it (& to be fair, it did work before my last pregnancy) so I'm holding out for that.
Let us know how you get on.0 -
Laila - hope your appointment goes well, I mentioned my problems and strange cycles when I had a smear test and the nurse told me to come back after I have been trying for a year (I was 2 months short). I am now going to have to try and get an appointment when I am off work for the Christmas Hols, which is when everyone will be wanting to see a GP.
I think it is lollypop who uses B6 - I was going to but thought I would wait until I have spoken to a GP first.
Jay - hope you enjoy the rest of your week off
Loveactually - hope you are feeling ok, hope the IVF goes well, am glad they have made the appointments promptly0 -
