Glad you enjoyed the trip, I LOVE London, got a girls weekend booked next June to London.... scary to think I will have a 3 month old baby then!! Who I will have to leave behind for 5 days !!!

Just got a text from brother, when we all have kids we stop buying the adults presents so he asked if I want a present this year or something for baby... I thought ME ME ME for a bit but then realised baby is more practical, I don't NEED anything whereas baby does so baby it is :)

Yeah I love London too butas I used to work there & it's not really that far from us, it's nice to go & play tourist for a change! It's like my friends who live in the Lake District only do the tourist stuff when friends visit!

Ooh I might have picked ME cos they'll probably buy the baby stuff when it comes lol but know what you mean! DHs mum is giving us baby shopping type vouchers for Xmas.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Thanks Birdie, there's an offer on Hayworth for £599 so that's not too bad then in comparison. Don't really want to pay that though. Where else can we look for nursery furniture ladies? We've tried M&P, Next, John Lewis - on our list is Mothercare and Toys R Us. We want to see it before we buy it as DH has a thing about checking the inside of drawers

Congrats on team pink squ1rrel :j also great to hear that you've been discharged from the consultant too!

faith no such thing as 'just support staff', school life is exhausting regardless. Today is the first day since I got my BFP I actually don't feel tired (and I'm sitting here planning!)

Debs I'm pretty sure I was dyspraxic anyway but being pg has made it 100x worse! I'm just clumsy :rotfl:

con great to hear the MW found the hb straight away, very reassuring!

I'm also on the lookout for a glider chair - so expensive new! Might wait until DH has finished the loft as currently our loft stuff is spread across our 2 possible nursery rooms.

Claire glad that you had a great time in London :D hope your 20 week scan goes well tomorrow, are you finding out?

AFM, I'm feeling great. I'm really enjoying being pregnant :) DH felt 3 more really strong kicks last night, I think that's our evenings sorted from now on. So special. I cried my eyes out when he felt it on Monday night!

Becca have you checked to see if there's a Kiddicare closeish to you? they had a wide selection when we went to our local one at much more logical prices lol

We got the darlington set from Mothercare for £450 which i thought was a decent price

Well I can't say I had the best GP led 22 week check up. He was young and very fit which is a little uncomfortable when doing the baby's heartbeat check. He seemed flustered, had never heard of PGP and asked me what I wanted him to do (nicely), didn't know what a MATB1 was so I had to explain it, and put the wrong EDD on it. Then when trying to find the heartbeat he didn't seem confident, didn't give me any tissue to tuck in my knickers to protect the from the gel or lay anything in my lap for modesty (the male sonographer at least tried with the towel). Then he only found the heartbeat for five seconds. Then at reception they told me I should have booked the right appointment, which was why he was flustered! Firstly they haven't given me any info on how to book the 'right' appointment, and secondly I checked yesterday in the phone that it was correct. So how am I meant to know that yes he was running the antenatal clinic for the week today but not until 10am???

@Becca: Try Ikea. I wish I'd found out how cheap/good it is for baby stuff earlier on with DD1. You can get 6 plates or bowls or cups for £1! Don't know about nursery furniture, but given that furniture is what they do, I can't imagine they wouldn't have any...

@Kynthia: That sounds pretty spectacularly inept :( Did he offer any support with the PGP in the end? I had a doctor once who asked me what I wanted him to do about a problem I was having. I was polite at the time, but I think now I'd put the ball back in his court by asking what treatment options there are available. How are you supposed to know?!

kynthia You don't seem to be having much luck with your appts! Goodness I hope I get a better dr at mine although all the male ones are in their 40s or older so should be experienced plus I'm hoping to get the female dr anyway as most things to do with fertility or babies go to her. I don't get why he'd be flustered though if he was planning on running a whole clinic that day? Surely a dr should be able to do basic checks like that! Especially as I assumed we see a dr then incase the midwife has missed anything!!

becca Yes we will be. But I'm just really nervous about everything being ok!

Kynthia well that does sounds weird!! Was he just covering for the mw? I don't think I have any gp appointments, they're all with the mw.

becca sounds like our storage/loft issues! OH has promised it'll be done before christmas, he's self employed and december is always quiet. So hopefully he'll have plenty of time to do it.
Just get it done already so that I can start painting and planning the nursery! grrr

clarie good to hear you managed to have a good mini break, and keep your sickness to a minimum.

Yoga last night, a few "graduates" came in with their little ones. Had a lovely cuddle with a 3 week old, little angel slept all the way through being passed around!
Less than a week till my scan! :D

Good luck with your scan Claire!

Kynthia - your appt sounds a bit of a nitemare. I remember when I had DD1 and a lovely looking young doc had his arm right up to the shoulder like a vets programme! :rotfl: Well that's what it seemed like :o He apologised for having to do it but at that point I didn't care, esp as the female junior doc had f&@ked up and he had to stop my bleeding. At least he knew what he was doing.

Thanks guys. I can't complain about my GP during ttc, the midwives I saw at my booking in and 16 weeks were good, the consultant I saw unecessarily when the midwife was spooked with my family history was good and my first scan was amazing! Also the GP I saw when off sick with a virus knew about PGP, said I could get a belt and be referred for pysio, and was really supportive when I said commuting was getting me down, so I might go to him or my ttc GP for a follow up if I need it. So it's not all bad, I've just been very diss appointed with my last two events.

I've now put a full and final offer on the house but they have another second viewing today. :( I hope these people don't want it and she accept our offer. I want to buy nursery furniture too.
