Still sporting a neat bump there Mrs_T_M. I tried to do a selfie but I can't get the camera angle right, so I'll have to get OH to take one when he gets back from working away.

    Thanks! :o

DH always takes mine for me, but have you tried using a mirror if you have one that you can see the bump in? As much as I hate 'mirror selfies' they're a good way to go for bump photos if you don't have someone else to take them for you. :)

Woke up around 3 last night, went to pee, and ended up laying on my back for a bit to take the weight off my hips. Had my left hand laid on the left side of my tummy and I could actually feel little one having a party! Woohoo! Also, DH felt the little one move for the first time last night right before bed! :j

Hi ladies, congrats on all your scans! Its nice to see how things are progressing. As for me, sorry I've not been around much, I have been reading but not posting. I feel rubbish again. I feel really sick, headachy and dizzy. My wrists also hurt and I'm still very tired. Have called in sick to work but feel guilty, I'm sure my boss hates me right now. I'm seeing the midwife tomorrow so hopefully she can suggest something. I though you were meant yo bloom in the 2nd trimester?!
Sorry for the moan, hugs to you all,

    Mrs muffin xx

Aww bless you, I haven't posted much either, I'm waiting for this scan in 15 days time ha!

I reckon the '2nd trimester bloom' is an old wives tale... or out and out lie lol, I felt physically rubbish until 16/17 weeks, for me it was dizziness from 14 weeks, dehydration and a very low BP. Then the hormones took over and I've felt ok physically but been an emotional wreck ever since! And like you I've even rung in sick, crying over everything just isn't good!

Hope you feel better soon xx

  • Hi all
another lurker, have been feeling to cack to even log in. Was 16 weeks on Monday still being sick and had to go to OOH on Saturday as blood in vomit. Another who doesn't believe in a 2nd trimester bloom. :-(

Lovely news all those who had scans.
As for birth it varies so much person to person. With my LB I was as ill.as i am now but birth was pretty straightforward...waters broke 11pm on the Friday night at 10.00am Saturday I called labour ward and they said come in. Had used my tens since about 8.00am (worked great for me but after a while in hospital started to bug me)and we were all surprised I.was 4cm dilated. Started pushing at 1pm and gave birth at 3pm. Did have to go to surgery for retained placenta but was quick and not as bad as i had expected.
Hoping this one is as quick or quicker:).

Have called in sick Thursday,Saturday ,only do 15 hrs a week but OOH said rest and last time I went in poorly was sick 3 times in the carpark.

  • Morning All!

I'm 24 weeks tomorrow and don't want to leave this thread :o

Quick question, does anyone get their bumps measured at the midwife appointments? I am yet to have mine measured.

My midwife always seems to be running late so my appointments are always rushed and i'm basically in and out in less than 5 mins! I do have questions but because its like a rush she makes me forget and next thing I know I'm sitting in my car leaving :(

I've been told that at least in my area, they don't start measuring until you're 25 weeks. :)

Bump (fundal height) measurements only generally start in the 3rd trimester, so don't worry :) it could be 24-28 weeks before they start measuring and charting it.

As for questions, I tend to butt in with them while she's flicking through/writing in my notes ;) I've found that the closer you get to your EDD the more time they leave for questions though. I think they just think of these earlier appointments as so routine and straightforward they forget you might have questions.

I got measured at 25 weeks.
  • Thanks for the responses :)

I was just concerned I was missing out due to her running late lol
  • that's such a good bump picture sunshine! I am 17 weeks today and mine is nothing like that I'm wondering if I should be worried?! haha. but then I googled 17 week bump pics and there's such a huge amount of difference. you look lovely :)

I might try and take a picture today. I mostly wear dresses and none of them are tight so you can hardly see anything ha. my work uniform is defintely getting too tight though. it's a press stud nhs tunic so not much room for growth! x
