I'm gutted the maternity swimwear that's on sale is all only left in a size small. I tried my normal swimsuit on the other day for going to aqua natal classes and it was so tight ha!
I managed to pick up a maternity swimming costume yesterday from mamas and papas for a tenner in the end of season sale. I went in store so don't know whats online but it might be worth a look.0 -
I hope the meds sort you out Lara x
Welcome to the thread Emsaint
My day took an unexpected turn when I broke down in lidl car park. I went & told the staff so that I wouldn't get fined for overstaying, and the manager insisted that I wait in the staff room! So very kind. My husband was luckily co-incidentally in a meeting 1/2 a mile away, so 1:30hrs later I was rescued. I was so thankful to lidl, my 4mth along bladder wouldn't have coped for that time! Please forgive the badly spelt alias... Good evening ladies,
Not much to report really. Apart from now starting to see my tummy actually move when my LO kicks. The kicks are definitely getting stronger.
Also went to London over the weekend and found myself having pains when I walk a little bit in my tummy. Having done a google search it seems to be something that happens to a lot of women because of all the stretching thats happening. This does seem to make sense in my head because I am getting massive! I am also not at all tall (4ft 11) and so it seems the only direction baby can grow is out.

Welcome ems!
Becs and Chelsea, ignorance won't be bliss when your little ones start coming out lol! Have you thought about watching some birth videos on YouTube? That helped me get an idea of what would happen when I was expecting my son. Might be an idea to consider.
Lara how are you feeling? That sounds like a nasty bang, is it worth getting checked over? X0 -
Congratulations for a successful scan chelseablue.
Hope you're OK Lara and theat the discomfort turns out to be nothing to worry about.
Still sporting a neat bump there Mrs_T_M. I tried to do a selfie but I can't get the camera angle right, so I'll have to get OH to take one when he gets back from working away.
Welcome emsaint
becs, chelsea and jen I'm lucky that because this is my second I'm not at all worried about giving birth this time. This is despite it all going horribly wrong with DS. I think what scared me first time was the unknown because you can read and learn all about it but you still don't know what it's going to feel like, and I was terrified about going into labour because of this, but this time round because it's not an unknown I feel far more relaxed. I hope that makes sense!
sounds like you've had very good customer service at lidl robots!
Vickyvics I'm only 14+4 and already a feel a strong downwards pressure and like my pelvis is being pushed apart and out at the front. I had the same with DS (and it wasn't PGP/SPD it was for other reasons) so I think what you're experiencing is normal. But if you are ever worried or it gets too painful tell your midwife as she may be able refer you to the pregnancy physio.
AFM, I sound like I'm always moaning, but really I'm very happy and excited about having another child. I am seriously starting to consider when to take maternity leave though. Due to the pain mentioned above I don't know how much longer I'll last working full time with a 2 hour each way commute. I was advised to take maternity leave at 29 weeks with DS but I'm hoping not to have the same complications this time and thought I might try and last til 36 weeks. I think realistically I'll probably start mat leave at 34 weeks though.
I've booked a few random days holiday here and there during February and April today and already have a couple of weeks booked off in March. I'm trying to work it so I don't do too many 5 day weeks then I might last a bit longer at work. Luckily there's a fair few bank holidays coming up too which shortens some weeks without having to use up leave.
I was in so much pain today that I felt like I was wobbling round the office. I've been trying to keep as active as possible and in doing so I think I've walked about too much. I was trying to keep active to keep my pelvis strong as it was weak pre-pregnancy, but it's had the opposite effect! Nevermind, got a short week as I've booked Thursday and Friday off as holiday as OH is off for 4 daysWe are planning on taking DS to a wildlife park over the weekend so that will be a lot more walking, will be very enjoyable though!

AQM can you get signed off if it gets worse? I don't know if that will affect maternity pay though. Might be worth hiring a mobility scooter for the zoo pmsl!0

I don't really want to get signed off unless it gets to the point where I can't move without crying, I enjoy my job and when I'm concentrating on something for a while I forget about the pain for a bit, I think I just need to take it a bit easier. It wouldn't affect my maternity pay though as we get full sick pay when we're ill (I think it's for up to 6 months, but I'd have to check). I was up and down to the printer every couple of minutes today, I was printing out a large document with loads of different sections and I went up to collect them one at a time to keep them in order, if you leave stuff on the printer too long or someone gets there before you they can accidentally mess up the order of things and that really winds me up! The pain is getting easier now I've finally sat down and had a rest for the day. I think it's more the commuting that a contributing factor, so I'll see how I get on and if it gets too bad I might have to see if we can come to an arrangement that I travel outside of rush hour or something, but I don't think work will be agreeing to something like that until at least the last trimester. I'm fine when I'm sat down, it's just when I'm moving about. I already have a high BMI so I want to stay active as I don't want to put on too much weight, and I want to give myself the best chance of being allowed a natural birth.
If they do hire out motorbility scooters at the wildlife park I think I might give it some serious consideration :rotfl:Although OH would defnitely tell our friends and I would never live it down. I'm sure there will be plenty of benches so I can just keep sitting down if I have to.0 -
Hi ladies, congrats on all your scans! Its nice to see how things are progressing. As for me, sorry I've not been around much, I have been reading but not posting. I feel rubbish again. I feel really sick, headachy and dizzy. My wrists also hurt and I'm still very tired. Have called in sick to work but feel guilty, I'm sure my boss hates me right now. I'm seeing the midwife tomorrow so hopefully she can suggest something. I though you were meant yo bloom in the 2nd trimester?!
Sorry for the moan, hugs to you all,
Mrs muffin xx0
