Well done becs, that's a fab win.
I ordered the Guess How Much I Love You baby record book from M&S last night and it arrived today, super speedy, and I'm really pleased as it is the same one I had for the teenager when he was a baby, I got a bit over emotional about it earlier, hubby, the teenager and one of his friends clearly think I am a basket case.

The link to the book had been posted yesterday in one of the pregnancy threads I think, but here it is again-£3 and free delivery

I tried to get it delivered to a store to collect and it wouldn't do it, so gave me free delivery, it didn't say that I couldn't collect from store until I had put all my payment details in and then gave the code to redo the purchase with free delivery. x

Haha if it is what I think it is I have a feeling mine will be well up for it too..,.

  • Hey everyone hope you are all doing ok?

This is a really quick one as I have to go pick OH up in a minute from the station but something happened earlier this evening and I wanted some advice on it.

Cut a really long story short my OH's dad spoke to me earlier and said my OH's mum is a bit upset as she feels like she's not being involved (don't get me started) anyway a long conversation ensued and after a while he said he had a favour to ask me.....can I ask my OH's mum to come with us to our scan in January.

Well I was flabbergasted, thought it was very rude, and also said he would have to speak to my OH because when I suggested to my OH that my brother come, my OH was mortified at the prospect that it wouldn't just be the two of us.

What are others thoughts on this? Is it just me who thinks my OH's mum basically inviting herself to our scan via her husband is a little but rude? I also feel a bit upset now because I feel he put me on the spot because it was just me and him in the house, and I feel he should have asked my OH about it first before approaching me because it's not really appropriate. I did mention I might not feel comfortable legs up in the air etc at the scan with his mum in the room, but his dad pretty much dismissed the fact that I said it entirely and just said oh I'll speak to my son about it then (well he said my OHs name but obviously don't want to post it on here)

    Am I being an idiot?

Thanks sophiasmum - it's odd cos it wasn't her inviting herself in her defence (sounds odd I'm defending her) because I couldn't tell whether she had suggested he ask me about it or whether he was just doing it off his own back. But it was the fact that he thought it would be appropriate to ask me to invite her. And he didn't even phrase it like 'oh do you think you two would be comfortable or ok with maybe OH's mum coming' it was oh do me a favour to cheer her up and invite her to your scan.....like I was inviting her out for coffee or something. I don't think he quite gets that these moments are sacred between my OH and I. It really upset me. So I will let OH be the bad guy!
