claire16c - I'm another one who would keep it! sorry you keep having scares, it must be so upsetting each time you think you are over one.

Eiteews - sorry you are still feeling poorly, that's rubbish.

lushlifesaver - have you tried jojo maman bebe for a nice Christmas dress? they have some that I have been eyeing up....

chelseablue - I've bought some home colour and am going to do it this weekend in advance of being a bridesmaid next weekend

is anyone else have REALLY bizarre and vivid dreams??? Mine are totally crazy at the moment (For example, last night watching a family of giant tortoises hatch from underneath our lawn.... There have also been some of er, a sexual nature, but involving really odd people!!!!)

Becs - I'm quite fond of a cheese and pickle sandwich - was a favourite in my last pregnancy too along with cheese toasties and crisp sandwiches :rotfl: On that mole question, glad you've sorted the appointment. It will put your mind at ease :)

Jen & becs - Like many of you ladies, we have a company bonus so crossing everything it's a decent payment to give us some breathing room….. :)

Sjlou, lannie duck & squirrel - Congrats on graduating to the BIG thread. See you there soon

Amyloofoo - Thanks for the tips on the cheese and eggs. I could polish off an cheese and scrambled egg sandwich right about now :rotfl:

Con - Hope the heartburn is improving. Sorry, I've not come across any wooly maternity tights but then, I haven't been looking out for them, so no help from me :rotfl:

Samtoby - 2nd pregnancy here too. Tickling feeling started for me about 17 weeks, and proper movement (although not big thumps) about 19 weeks. Not long and you'll be getting these too ;) In first pregnancy, movement for me wasn't til about 22 weeks…..

Claire - you're a bit ahead of me, but I did have a definite limb or head jutting out the front of my tummy when I woke up last week, then baby moved and the lump disappeared. I think it's totally normal to feel pressure and even some pain/discomfort depending on how the baby is positioned. If the pain is concerning though, give the midwife a call for re-assurance :) Oh, and I vote keep the extra parcel too :)

Vickyvics - My midwife said prawns are fine, although I still limit how often and from where I eat them. Mostly I make them at home knowing they're fresh (plenty of time before the use by date) and cooked thoroughly just to be safe…… I love prawns! ;)

Kynthia - Nice to see you popping in

Oo - and scan today this afternoon for me - eek :D

  • just lurking from the less than 12 weeks pregnant thread to say I asked the midwife this in my booking appointment! I don't just have highlights I have a full head colour so I was worried. she said there's no problem, she said hair dyes aren't what they used to be and it's perfectly safe. but Iv decided to wait til after 12 weeks anyway :)

    Good luck today Twigpig!

Becsxxx - I have had some really odd dreams and yes a few of mine have been sexual and with odd people.

I have having my highlights done next Monday - I checked and it was fine. I won't do it as much as I normally do but probably once now for Christmas and maybe in the summer just before the baby is due.

I can't believe how much quicker time goes after your 12 week scan. I was so desperate to get there but now I am thinking wow its only a month until my 20 week scan. Last night I thought I felt something but I am sure it was wind. I am REALLY windy lol. :rotfl:

My friend is due when my 20 week scan is hoping she has her baby early and I can pop in!

I have gone off tea but I have had the odd cup but they next day I have a headache. Not sure if it is the tea. I just seem to really like ice cold water.

Sorry claire16c you have had a bit more discharge. I do hope it stops completly. xx

    Just a quick question,

Is anyone still having their hair highlighted while pregnant?

Id like to get mine done before Christmas but not sure if I can?

    Im 14 + 6 today

Yes, I was told highlights are fine as they don't sit on your scalp. I probably need them redone for Xmas but I don't relish the though if sitting the their chairs for so long.

Becsxxx - I have had vivid dreams too. I had one the other night where i was choking and couldnt breathe, i woke up during it and it kind of translated into waking and i ended up having a mini panic attack because i was in that half asleep half awake state and didnt know what was happening. Also Yes to the sexy time ones but with OH...so vivid that i actually had to ask him if it was real or not!! :o:o

Is anyone else REALLY hungry all the time?? I have gone from hardly eating anything and feeling sick to ravenous in just a couple of weeks!
I'm trying desperately to choose healthy options because i didnt really think about it last pregnancy put 4 stone on!! :o  and had to really fight to lose it all afterwards. I dont want to have to do that again!

Im also in a really weird position that i actually need to get bigger for my wedding in 3 weeks! I have a maternity dress and although it is fairly adjustable i need a decent sized bump to make it work or i'm just going to look a bit podgy in one area. I will be 18 weeks ish. I look pregnant in tights but not really anything else!!

Hugs to all those needing them!

Yes I've been really hungry, I still feel nauseous sometimes too so I eat all day long.

I've only put on 8lbs since I got pregnant though - although it would be 13lb if you count loosing 5lb due to sickness & having to put that back on first.

So it doesn't seem to go anywhere so I just keep eating!

I've had some dreams about DH - poor guy it's the only sex he's getting!
  • cllola I am hungry pretty much all the time and yet I was drinking all the time before but now I hate the sensation of it :S Pretty much forcing down a cup of tea, glass of pure juice and a can of either fruity flavoured pop or a Ribena during the day :/

That said I don't appear to have put too much on at the moment, still only a small bump and whilst I'm pretty sure my tush and thighs are a bit bigger it isn't by much (can just tell cos of all the weight I lost this time last year I think!) Last time I weighed myself (probably 4-6weeks ago now mind) I think I'd only put on something like 11/12lbs. Bf's mum keeps saying it starts from 20 weeks mostly but no mad gain so far

Becs my moles have gone darker, more noticeable and more sensitive. Sometimes itchy/raised/sore if I scratch them. My pregnancy app mentioned it as being a normal thing so I'm not concerned. They've not changed in shape or size. If you're concerned though, getting them checked even just for reassurance, is a good idea :)

Mary this is my first and I felt movement just before 15wks and DH felt it a week later. My placenta is at the back though, which helps :)

Chelsea, re Highlights I've had mine done 3 times so far and have a booking for the week before Christmas for my last one before baby comes (assuming MiniZee doesn't have ideas of an early escape ;)). I too have seen/read/heard that highlights are considered safer than full head dye cos it doesn't touch your scalp so nothing to absorb. But I also agree that dye touching my scalp wouldn't really concern me too much either. :)

Thanks for the heads up on Mothercare. Is it in store too? I'm on my way there tonight...

I was looking into the same thing about highlighting hair. I really want to get mine done and when I googled it the other day all advice seemed to suggest its fine, just to avoid it during first trimester, and not to dye it/get it dyed in a confined space where you can breathe the fumes in. Someone also said to avoid bleach but I don't know how true that is.
