    Happy Tuesday!

Not much to report here, apart from a severe want for a lovely runny fried or poached egg. Or even dippy egg with soldiers!!! Out of everything this is the thing I am missing most. I am actually finding the lack of alcohol and limited caffeine much easier to deal with compared with the lack of runny eggs!! I really wish I had gone crazy on the eggs before pregnancy now. Isn't it funny how you don't realise how much you enjoyed something until you can't have it anymore. Will have to make do with my homemade tomato soup in the meantime. xx

Mmm... runny eggs is one of my 'wants' as well (although I do allow myself an occasional runny egg if I do it at home and I know the eggs are lion-branded). The other one's soft cheese. I could really go for some stinky camembert or gorgonzola....

I miss all those nice cheeses mmmmmm :) It is strange what you miss.

I have been thinking about items to buy for the baby all day. The list really could be endless couldn't it! After Christmas I reckon time will fly - I have saved some money but still will not be enoug probably.

I have seen a pram I like the icandy Peach jogger but I think its a tad early to look at prams in the flesh, for us anyway so will look after Christmas.

Anyone else had a look/ got one yet? xx

  • Is anyone worried about paying mortgages and bills whilst on maternity?

I have a house and bills which I pay all on my own as my OH doesn't technically live with me yet (but obviously he's going to be stepping up once I take maternity) I just can't help but worry - I have saved a few grand for this specific reason as we knew we would be having a family, just didn't think it would only take 4 months to fall pregnant as it took my mam 3 years - hence why our living arrangements aren't quite sorted yet :o

I am very worried. We are going to be very stretched but we have written down the ins and outs and will budget well.

I am going to start buying extra bits each week so that we don't spend so much but tbh we genereally eat fresh so you can't buy that in advance - but I am going to try going some veg and salad this year.

  • Sam, we've looked at the icandy peach (the 4-wheel one). Think we're pretty set on it now!

I think it was the peach I looked at but I found it too heavy and with too big wheels (buggy will live in our car boot) & so preferred the strawberry Icandy.

You really need to push them about the shop to get a good feel!

Lots of the ones I thought I'd like were too bulky or heavy for me.

I'm trying not to worry about finances too much; bf pays the rent and utilities at the minute and I pay the council tax, groceries/pet supplies and my own costs and my contribution to joint savings (we separate based on earnings, so as he brings in over 2/3rds more than me he pays 2/3rds and I pay 1/3rd leaving us with the same amount each each month). Council tax year ends in January then we get the two month break bf has said he will then take it on for the six months I'm off, my costs other than contributions to joint savings are repayments to my PCDL, student overdraft, phone contract, groceries, any personal spends. Overdraft will be gone in December so that's an additional £115 per month 'in my pocket' which I will add to the £75 per month I started saving to build myself a little buffer of around £825 for whilst I'm off. Other than that we should be OK on with my maternity pay as I will use it for grocery/baby costs, phone bill (20per month) PCDL and joint savings. Should be about 500 per month leaving me with a little extra too :-) ... well that's the plan anyway!

On the pram note we have had ours since very early on (in bfs parents loft), can't wait to get it down and 'play'! Hehe

Morning ladies. My day off today but heartburn has me awake ! Are we allowed to take ranitidine ? I suffered badly from heartburn and reflux for years so I'm pretty used to it but always took ranitidine to take the edge off.

Last night I went to the football... On route here I started feel sick on the bus and my friend had to ask around for a bag... Only
One available was full of empty beer cans... So yep that became my sick bag. Will be better prepared in future and now will always carry my own sick bag!!

22 weeks now and starting to get BIG !
