Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
We have just had a horrendous thunder storm, I HATE THUNDER!!!!!
Cooking toad in the hole for supper.......smells lovely........my mouth is watering from the smell, with red wine gravy as well.
Need to change the bed tomorrow and get the sheets in the washer.....have read my water meter today, and it is still showing 0000, so we obviously have not used much cold water since we had the meter put in..........I am not going to be landed with huge bills.
We have been looking at hotels in New York, I know its a long way off, but we are trying to find an hotel thats not too expensive, this trip is going to cost an arm and a leg, because we want to break the journey in New York for 4 nights on the way back from Florida.........so no cheap flights.......I am starting to save now, we have a Florida account in the bank and I shovel any spare???? cash into it, anything from my ebay sales go into it once I have paid the commission. I hope to save enough to pay our flights, so we just have to fund the hotel and spending money...........
I see in the paper today the cost of passports are going up yet again.......if I could I would renew ours, but OH has 2 years to go and I have 3........ boo hoo............
Off to see if my supper is ready.cheers...........Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Just watched the news. Hope everyone OK re flooding - it looked awful.
Sorry - too tired tonight to say anything. Babysitting ended at midnight last night (up before 7.00 this morning) so totally knacked. Can't do this on a work night but they ask so rarely and no family up here!
We have the heating on here tonight - it has turned very cold.
Love and hugs to all no matter what you are going through today.

Hi!
Hurray it's FRIDAY!! :j
I was on another course this morning and then when I returned to school my Headteacher told the staff she has been given an OBE! So that is great news for both her and the school as she has been here for almost 20 years. :T
The weather here was grim then we had a lovely afternoon and now it is grim again.
We've had a lazy tea of pizza and chips followed by sweets. I'm so tired that I can't plan any further than getting out of bed in the morning, so I'm not sure what is happening over the weekend (feel like sleeping for most of it).
Have a good evening.0 -
Evening Everybody
Thanks for the ideas on how to explain to DD, love the rainbow bridge idea will definately use that one next time.
Unfortunately I was correct about the poor puss and she had a large tumour in her bowel so obviously the kindest thing was to let her go. DH is fine about it. BIL came with me and he was completely devestated. Didnt really know what to say to a fully grown man crying like a baby. We buried her in MIL's back garden where she spent her time hunting.
We told DD that she was going to be a star in the sky and she seems pleased with that.
Having a few drinks and our pizza now.Sorting my life out one day at a time0 -
Hi BusyG and JMum
Know how you feel. So tired tonight. Sorry the outcome with the Puss. I am afraid my DGS1 (4 and a half) totally obsessed with death (no bereavements human or otherwise) - just that age I think. He keeps asking why my Daddy had to die (26 years ago) and what will happen when I die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I took him on the plane to Ireland to visit DS and Partner earlier this year the clouds were where heaven is!
Csarina - can't believe passport costs up again - I renewed mine in November and got a credit until early April this year. Didn't want to let it run out just in case I had to make a dash to see DS in Ireland - it is my photo ID never mind our holiday to Spain in May last month. You can renew up to have a year in advance I think with no extra charge (11 years for 10 is YSWIM!)
What is it costing now? At least I have mine for another 10 years (and I have the special chip). Is this nother way of taxing us?

Evening Guys!
What a weird day weather wise...couldnt decide what it wanted to do.
OH did a scrummy dinner of steak, chips, mushy peas, mushrooms and garlic bread:D ...the steak could of been abit rarer though...but im not moaning:D ...much;)
Cleaned out the fridge this afternoon and inside the door was yucky:o also managed one of the drawers in the kitchen. Sat out in the garden and pulled a few weeds out whilst drinking me coffee. House is nice and tidy and have a washload ready for the morning. As I havent been too good this week niece is doing the ironing for us. She has picked it up and said that she will drop off over the weekend:j
Have some family coming tomorrow (lucky me!) so OH popped to the local shops and bought some nice ham, rolls, salad and FR eggs as we had run out. I will just offer sarnies/rolls with either cheese, ham, egg mayo and salad and I have some nice kettle crisps that are on special at Lidls ATM. We have loads of biscuits in and lots of fruit, so hopefully that caters for everyone as Im not up to making a cooked meal! I am hoping that they arent here too late.
I am hoping once they have gone and Im not too knackered to make a big pan of Chilli. I have fresh peppers in that need using, mushrooms and some fresh chillies. I love chilli on a baked spud with grated cheddar:D I will freeze into portions as we normally have this at lunchtime as DD doesnt particularly like it.
Out of the blue this week we have been offered 2 bungalows to exchange with. I forgot our details were even on the list. One is a 3 bed semi in Nottingham and the other is a 2 bed detached in Aylesbury. Not sure what either area is like, but we just cant move ATM. Probably when DD has finished schooling....typical though isnt it!
Anyway, I need something to eat as I feel abit shakey.
Hugs to all.

Take care of yourself and make sure that you do not get dehydrated either.
Tranquil
Glad you decided to post.
Have spent from 6a.m. to 9a.m. frantically tidying as estate agent came to value our house and it should be on the market next week.
Had to hide the wet washing as it has been raining for days and I did not want it cluttering up the kitchen.
DH took me to Lidl and I stocked up with loads of food.
DD(18) has exam today and made her home made drop scones for breakfast to cheer her up.
Youngest DD needs a birthday present for a friend and does not want to trail around the shops so I got talked into ordering her a make up set from Revlon for about £6 which looks a lot more expensive than it really was. I got it from Blush cosmetics on line and it should do nicely. If it is late DD intends to just tell her friend she ordered it specially and it had not arrived yet.
Trying to get my 18 year old to come shopping at Debenhams as they have a sale on some of the designer occassion dresses at the moment and I do not fancy paying full price later.
