Late logging on today. This morning we went to see our councillor about the HB and CT, she has taken all the paper work and will get back to us when she has some answers.
Nice bright morning, quite warm out, had a quick trip to Mr T's for a top up shop and to the bank to pay in a cheque I had been waotong for from an e bay sale.
Not a lot going on here, I weighed out 2 1/2lbs of strawberries and covered them with sugar to make the conserve tomorrow, I had to get ordinary sugar, I could not find preserving sugar, got 2 lemons, will use the juice from one of them to help the set.
Off to see my sewing friend tomorrow afternoon for a couple of hours.....in the mean time a cuppa is on the cards, so off to put the kettle on.Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Well, out of my to do list earlier
(stick a dark load in the WM, iron a few bits & pieces, shower & dress, paint my toe nails, remove varying amounts of body hair (;)), pack, remake the bed and hoover. Oh yes, and do 8 hours work!)
I have done everything apart from pack (OH likes to be here for that, to tell me I'm doing it wrong ) & hoover (I think he can do the hoovering).
Quite a productive day. I have also phoned France (yes, all of it :rotfl:) to tell them what time we're arriving tomorrow and negotiated new monthly DDs with my energy supplier. We were paying a whopping £85 per month for gas  but are nearly £300 in credit, so I've dropped it to £55. Electric was £33 & is now £25, with about £70 credit on the bill. Water meter reader bloke came this morning, so when I get the water bill I'm hopefully going to be able to drop that a bit as well. What a good little moneysaver :money:0 -
Good afternoon o'sers
Well I didnt go to the training seminar this afternoon as the cold I came down with yesterday got worse, so I have spent most of the day in bed. I managed to put the training back a few weeks and I could do it on line so havent missed out too much. Have just taken some more Day Nurse that I found lurking in the cupboard so am hoping to feel a bit better soon.
Has anybody been watching Britains got talent - we love it but its on a bit late for DD so she is tired out.
So today I have done pretty much nothinggot a letter about job seekers allowance so that has been started as of this week but am still waiting to hear about council tax benefit.
Good luck with the party this weekend dlb
have fun with the BM natzini
QVC used to do those longer lasting veg bags but not sure of price bargain rzl
well done on the moneysavings lucie
anniestar I dont know how anybody affords to live in London either  last time we were there I looked in a estate agency window at the rentals and the prices were more per week for a 1 bed flat than a 3 bed house is per month up here
dinner is leftovers from the freezer tonight and I will be wrapped up in my duvet on the sofa feeling sorry for myself ( well thats after I have picked up DD from schol and run her to her singing lesson and back ) better get a shuffle on.
Have a good one everybody:cool: Official DFW Nerd Club Member #37 Debt free Feb 07 :cool:0 -
Hi all
Well, I've done one of my "specials" and have managed to do sweet nothing all day long. My excuse: my back is really sore (and not from hard work, ha ha). I think I pulled a muscle in it yesterday evening and it hurts so much!
Aril - that joke was v.naughty! Have you got any more?
AnnieStar - yes, London house prices are truly  I moved from there to NI 3 years ago and in that length of time house prices here have absolutely rocketed. I think they went up by around 45% in the space of one year, with dramatic rises in other years on top. It's frightening.
My two kitties are being exceptionally affectionate at the moment. Teddy is curled up between my arms in front of the keyboard and wee Dylan is hanging around looking to get petted. I think I mentioned a while ago that my friend's seven month old kitten was having kittens. Well the new kittens have duly arrived and they are thriving. There were five in total, and their eyes are in the process of opening now. They are so gorgeous. Alas I have a favourite, I have even given it a name - think Teddy and Dylan are soon going to have to budge up when in bed to let a little one in.
Angelraesunshine - what a sweet way of explaining death to a child. I hope you find it useful Joannasmum.
Right, I've got to move, back is letting its displeasure be known. Bye for now.

Hi everyone, hope you are all ok.
Had good day at work today, our school was closed today to pupils because some of our classrooms flooded. So it has been rather productive day in terms of work, the head was in a good mood and gave us free lunch and let us go home early woo-hoo!!
We got thunder & lightening really bad here now, everywheres flooded.
DS is doing a sponsored walk tomorrow, I hope it calms down for him!!
Anyway must dash.
Enjoy your day if your celebrating and hugs to those that want/need them

Joannasmum have you ever heard of rainbow bridge? It might need to be changed for a lit-lun but its such a beautiful piece of writing and chokes me every time I read it:
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
Snowyowl - I love kittens, would be lovely to see a pic! Mine is mental and has been fairly quiet the past few weeks so I feel a "phase" coming on!
Much love0 -
Hello again,
Just finished packing etc. Didn't end up going for a long walk today as the rain kept falling. The farmers are here doing something sinister to the lambs & ewe's.Saw one guy trying to wrestle the ewe to the ground and she just wouldn't go, so he started kicking her. The other one has a baseball bat.
I hate seeing anyone cruel to animals. There is no need for it at all. I wish they'd just go as it's upsetting me. I can hear their baa's baa's in distress.DH is asleep and I would go for a drive but the lady is coming this arv to give us back our bond as she can't make it tomorrow.
Snowy I told you to go easy on the lap dancing classes.I hope your back is better by Lesson No 2.
Oops a daisy Hope you recover quickly from your cold.
Think I will go and put the tv on very loudly. ByeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
,Aussie, that's awful! As you say, no need for cruelty or brutality to animals. I might be happy to eat meat but I want the animals to be kindly reared and humanely slaughtered.
The weather today has been glorious, not one shower, despite what the weatherman said this morning:D Have got two loads of washing dry already.
Went to Asda to get a copy of Brain Training for the DS, £12 down from £19.99 and treated myself to a hand-mixer for the grand price of.......(drumroll please) £3.96!!:rotfl: I really know how to indulge myself! Don't know how they cover materials and packaging at that price, but hey I only want it for creaming butter and sugar etc. My poor arm was hanging off the other day having done loads by hand, so this should be just the ticket.
Well just heard the WM finish another load, and with this sun it can still do some drying, so I'm off to peg it out. Might be back later.
CMx
Well washing pegged out, and a fresh coffee made and then I remembered I hadn't said how good it is to see you back Twink :T
And Snowy, as I read your post I was singing "Snowy wants a kitten, Snowy wants a kitten":rotfl: :rotfl: Knew I was right!;)You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
