Morning all! and Happy Birthday Angelraesunshine!

Didn't sleep very well either last night but I think that's because I let myself have a lay-in yesterday and wasn't so tired at bedtime! :o Fell bad for it now though!

Going to have a lazy day today. It's absolutely chucking it down so I don't think I'll be venturing outside if I can help it.

I listed 7 items on eBay last night as it was a 10p listing day. Got a bidder on one and two items with watchers already so that's looking good! :T Only got a few weeks until baby's arrival so trying to do as much moneysaving/making now, while I've still got some time to myself! :o

Hope everybody has a productive day. :)

Just heard on Wednesday that I am going to be redundant at work, hubby not working either but not told him yet. Have been wanting to leave for a long time so in a way it is a relief to know that I will no longer have to suffer at the hands of a bully, but a worry moneywise.

Best wishes, rovinia. Hopefully, this will give you the chance to find a job that you really enjoy. Best of luck with the job hunting! :)

    Morning all

It's grey and windy here this morning - nice and refreshing.

Got sunburnt yesterday whilst watching sports day - typically I had my bag strap across my body so I look really attractive this morning  DD2 is off school again, sun stroke this time - she wasn't well during sports and has had a nasty upset tummy too - she's currently in bed watching tv and trying to keep her eyes open.

After my blonde moment earlier in the week with finding a bill that I'd forgotton to budget for this month, DH informed me yesterday that he didn't get his overtime sheet in on time and we will be £350 down  I know we'll get it next month but it doesn't help when there's bills to pay. I shall have to rejig everything yet again and see if I can get some bits listed on ebay today.

Chicken soup and HM bread for dinner along with a large glass of wine me thinks.

We're away to the inlaws for the weekend then a hotel at DH's company expense whilst he sees some clients - at least it means free food for 4 days :j

Hope you all have a great day.

    Morning all,

<<Hugs>> for all the poor sleepers.
    rovina and beard, welcome! :hello:
Pen Pen, good luck at the dentist.
twink, it's good to see you back.
newster, glad to hear dd's appetite is picking up again.
dlb, I hope the weather clears up so ds2 can enjoy his basketball over the weekend.
Penny Pincher, I hope dd's throat is better soon.
scuzz, I hope bf is feeling a bit better.
Angelraesunshine, have a lovely day! :bdaycake:

Well, it's tipping it down again here this morning and not much better forcast for the weekend. :( Ds1 was supposed to be going camping with the scouts again tonight but it's been cancelled because of the weather.....he's terribly disappointed so looks like we'll have a sullen teenager at a loose end this weekend.

On the upside, it's Friday! :j One more night of work and I'm off! So far, kids are all off to school and the breadmaker's on but that's about it. I wanted to put a wash on but there's just no point.....it really gets me down when it's hanging all over the house. Hoping to do a big freezer cook this afternoon so tea will probably be something from that.

Have a good day everyone. :)

    Morning all,
Happy Birthday AngelaRaesunshine, hope you have a good day Congrats to tinkerbelluk, nice one!
Rovina, sorry about redundancy but congrats on losing a bully, they make life awful

No major plans here today except to continue to try to tidy up the house before the carpenter visits next week to quote for jobs. Think I shall have to set egg-timer to give me 30 mins bursts where I try to beat it to tidying up or I shall never get it done. :rotfl:

Kitten Finn officially has a nickname - "PsychoKitty". He went COMPLETEY nuts running around on the sofa last night, chasing a ball, climbing to the top and skid-sliding down the cushions. Mad mad mad. Echo & I watched him with the equivalent of mouths open! He's currently flakers-makers on the chaise longue in here, but so are the 3 adults around the house! At least he's got to the stage where I can go out for a couple of hours and think he's not going to get into trouble.

Sold another book on greenmetropolis.com! :j Haven't even read this one yet! People must be going on hol! Long may it last :D

Scraped green bin over toe this morning - that'll teach me to wear flipflops. Great cut on it, so maybe a good excuse not to dig at lottie :) Black clouds anyway, so might get drenched. Shame, wanted to wash bedding I stripped off the other day.

OH has told me he's working most of the weekend - at home on the computer but still! He puts in over 60 hours a week anyway, and I really don't it's appreciated. So looks like we're housebound on the weekend.

Computer crash last week made me review my accounts. Found one ISA (saving to pay off mortgage capital) at MUCH less interest than others. Now looking at Martins advice to transfer it out. Why is it only a crisis that makes us look at some things!

Better get on - have a good one folks.

    Morning All

Havent had time to read the thread yet. Thanks for all the hugs yesterday. Had a resonable good day yesterday. Today we are going swinming in a minute.

Unfortunately I have a rather unpleasent task later on as DH cat that lives at MIL's is seriously ill and I've been nominated to take it to the vets to put it out of its misery. Not looking forward to it but can't see the poor thing suffer. I hoping that MIL will go halfs on the cost because we have no money at all until next Wednesday if not I'll have to go begging to my dad.

Anybody got any ideas how to explain to a very bright 2 year old whats happened to the cat?

Quiet night in later with HM pizzas as a treat if I have to borrow from my dad I'll ask for an extra fiver so I can get us a bottle of wine as a treat I think I might need it.

    Have a good day everyone

Oh dear bless well we have always told our little ones that when some thing or someone dies that they go on a trip to the stars. This started with my DD at 2 1/2 that when her great nanny died ( they were very close) that she went on a trip to the sky, She is now called nanny in the sky. About 6 months later the family dog died and she too went to the sky and lived with nanny in the sky.

The way we remember them is when we see the clouds or the stars thats them looking down on us and we can always talk to the clouds or the stars and we sing twinkle twinkle little star to remember them. This has worked so well that even my little boy who is 3 and never met my nan or dog as they passed 5 years ago still knows who they are and talks about them.

I would tell your little one that the cat was not very well and has gone on a trip to the sky which is so far away but can always been seen etc. we did this with the 3 gerbils the cat got  and worked fine.

Hope my little story helps and good luck xxxxxxxx

    PP,

I'm a novice and mine aren't ready yet....have you been earthing them up? I think that you are meant to leave the flowers and wait until the plants begin to wilt before you dig them up.

These threads from the Greenfingered board might help:

Also have a look at this post as the poster seems to know what he's talking about.

    Morning all!

Gosh, the heavens look as though they are going to open any second now! Eek!

I have my cuppa beside me and the DW on, have been working through my 'to do' list but haven't had a bath yet! So that's next on my agenda!

Am still waiting for my breadmaker, nearly 2 weeks since I ordered it and MR are meant to be fast! I called them yesterday and they said I'll have it by Monday, if not to call them again... I'm getting so impatient, haha.

    Now for messages...
    Happy Birthday Angelraesunshine!
    Congrats to Tinkerbelle!
Sending best wishes to Rovinia-just think about getting rid of that bully
Sending hugs to those who need/want them, esp the light sleepers/early risers
Remember everyone: everything's alright in the end... if it's not alright, then it's not the end!

Busy weekend for me-this afternoon and tomorrow I'm working, and Sunday I'm teaching a jewellery making class.
Next weekend I'm off camping, I really hope that the weather perks up!

Next week I have a busy one-lots of work and meetings. Still have loads of Ebaying, selling etc to do-I'd put a really nice phone on this week but had no bidders at all! It closed with no bids, whereas the same phone was closing at £35 on other auctions! So am going to try and sell it through another means, and if it's not sold then, I'll try Ebay again!

Right, my bath is calling me!!
    Have a good day x
