Hi everyone,
I've posted before but went back to lurking due to circumstances. Thought I'd have another go at joining in if I may?
I've spent the morning rushing round trying to get house tidy and sorted for the weekend. About to take DD1 to afternoon nursery, then she has friends coming to play afterwards. Looking forward to the weekend when there's less rushing about and hubby at home to help out! DD2 fast asleep so about to go and move her into car to do nursery run.daisyroots wrote: »Something better will replace it - the new leaf cannot grow till the old leaf has dropped off.
I love this quote, it so applies to life. I'll be remembering it. Thank you.
Just add happy birthday to Angelrae and hugs to all that need them.

Afternoon :hello:
Welcome back tranquil and anniestar  and Happy Birthday to Angelreasunshine :bdaycake:
scuzz, I'm glad BF is out of hospital but it still sounds like he's taking you for granted ((((hugs))))
twink, don't beat yourself up, accidents happen ((((hugs))))
Sooo glad it's Friday.
Quick question of the day is: Does anywhere with a branch in London (i.e. NOT LAKELAND) sell those bags that keep fruit and veg fresh for weeks??
It's lunchtime at work and I have HM leek and potato soup
I have a cheapie standing ticket to see Don Giovanni at the Royal Opera House this evening, and I'm sure that some friends of mine said they were going tonight too... they have similar booking habits to mine, so I will probably turn up and find them in the two standing places next to mine
Ran into another friend unexpectedly last night, which was nice
Penny-Pincher!!, I am intending to pop down your way tomorrow with the Wally Trolley to take a bulky pile of stuff to the very cheap dry-cleaner by the Co-opDrop me a line if you fancy a chat over a cup of tea (I've left my mobile at home today  but if you send me a text I'll get it later). I'll probably be in your neck of the woods about 2pm (so I can go to Lewisham market for bargains on the way back
daisyroots your username has brought back amusing memories for me! When I was 10, my dad and I did a turn at a family gathering which involved him as a ventriloquist and me as a dummy called Daisy Roots
Anyway must be off, catch you later
Love Rzl xx
Edited to say: anniestar, I soooo know what you mean about London property prices  I'm so lucky to have found somewhere affordable (and even then, what I pay out in a month for my little flat would buy or rent a family home in some parts of the country  )Operation Get in Shape

Looking forward to tomorrow as DD1 bestfriend is getting married she is being a bridesmaid so a wedding will be nice will get some ideas hopefully as DD1 has now sent a date for next august.
DD3 is down in the dumps her bf has just dumped her, first love at 14! in a way I am secretly quite pleased they was getting a bit serious for my liking but no one likes to see their children so upset do they?
N9eav have you tried any charity shops that was where i got one a few years ago they dont always keep them out in the shop but in the back room apart from that in Asda George do a reasonable one and I am sure you would easily sell it on for a good price

Hi everyone!
Sorry haven't yet read through but hugs to those who need them.
On the OS front today I've stripped the beds and changed the towels, white load in, emptied the bin and am off to Mr T tonight. Looks like it's going to be a big shop this week boo hoo!
Well the small person did his country dancing festival or should that be country walking. The little tyke never got beyond a walking pace even when being dragged along at high speed by his Amazonian sized partner. When left to his own devices he thought it much more fun to see if he could kick his bottom with his heels rather than getting on with stripping the willow or whatever else he was supposed to be doing. OH and I howled it was so funny and he was quite unrepentant afterwards. He's definitely in his "pah...dancing's for gals stage" right now. Did however, manage to get him out of the door wearing a white tshirt for the occasion rather than the grubby grey rag he produced from his pe kit which was a clean white tshirt only last Mon:eek: when he went back to school so that's an achievement in itself.
This weekend I'm off to a friend's after MR T for a couple of glasses of vino..weather permitting I shall travel there on my old boneshaker of a bike:D Tomorrow lunch out:D at a friend's in Hampshire and then on Sunday it's my sister's flat warming do. She of the freecycled flat fame...her latest bargain has been a load of Ikea floor cushions for the do from freecycle.
Can I tell a naughty joke?!!
A man goes into the doctors-
" What can I help you with today?" the doctor asks.
"i've got a strawberry stuck up my bottom" the man replies
"Would you like some cream to go with that!!" asks the Doctor.
Right on that low note I shall love you and leave you.
Aril
PS I've put the recipe for Potomac pie in the index as a couple of people have asked about it.Aiming for a life of elegant frugality wearing a new-to-me silk shirt rather than one of hair!0 -
Afternoon guys.
Well just about got everything done i wanted to, basketball net bought other presents wrapped up, found out the birthday banners, and am about to go and get the cake and do some food shopping. As we dont `do` birthday partys anymore ( well not for the boys, dd having her first comercial one in dec) the boys know they get to pick the food menu for the whole day on their b/days, so ds2 has requested that tommorows menu be full english for brekie, small party food bufet at dinnertime, and bugers and hm chips for tea.
Hope you are all having a good day, rain has stopped here for the minute, hope is stays that way.
