So you were using the phone SIM with a modem and an AD Blocker??

And it is 500 Mb.
It;s 750MB.
The person who bought it up was talking about data sims quite obviously.
So you were using adblocker and a phone sim in your modem.
WOW! Are you !!!!ing kidding me? You were breaking two rules. You deserved to be banned.0 -
I think Ovivo has been confirmed in other forums as happily accepting tethering and modem use.
But I can see if you choose to use adblocker for your usual broadband but forget to turn it off when surfing via Ovivo, you could fall foul and I agree that lack of a warning is very cavalier of them.
The best SIM to pop in to replace Ovivo is Three 321 which near as dammit free to use anyway, plus has some really good roaming and international calling options.
Ironically, Ovivo very frequently advertises Three's 'game changing' SIM on the Ovivo Now ad page!0 -

He admits to doing it the same way for months and never saw a Ad in this time.
Did he think they just give a free service and asked nothing in return?
Of course there are terms and conditions. If he couldn't be bothered to read or even try to adhere to them, why should they be bothered to send him a warning? It certainly doesn't form a part of the contract.
Ovivo are a business, not a charity. I'm sure that you would feel the same if it was your business.
He has done them a favour in the end by advertising what can happen.

Well, I think the OP has a point; Ovivo could have warned before cutting off the service.
In their favour, you don't have to delve deep into the T&Cs to read that it is an ad-funded service; it's not like it's hidden away on page 25 of the small print.
Oh, and since people are being pedantic about terms and conditions, let's be pedantic about terminology too...

And 750mb for a data only sim for tablets....
With the same terms regarding add blockers for both...
But in my case it's moot because data isn't working on my iPhone. I did select the appropriate option on my account, but it's not doing anything (I can make calls).0 -

Thank you. The answer I was hoping for. The only problem remains the fact that my number is dead until Tuesday and no one can call me.0 -

Ooh, yes. Let's all pretend that T+Cs don't exist.... T&C garbage ...
Promises, promises? (already broken twice by somebody masquerading as you.larry_lurex wrote: »Over and out from me.
I wonder if Ovivo have a claim against you for the use you have made of their system while contravening the T+Cs. It could be more or less than your deposit so it's surely time to call it quits.
As others have pointed out, if you had a case you'd be doing it no favour at all with the attitudes you show in this thread.
Calm down, dear.

What is so very difficult about maintaining civil relationships with customers by warning them with an automated Email that they are infringing Ts&Cs and if they continue to do this, the service will be terminated, subject of course to a practical notice period?
Generally I have found Ovivo to be friendly and responsive about various issues - like when I lost a phone with an Ovivo SIM in it, I was able to get a new Ovivo SIM and my number back very quickly.
I think someone at Ovivo could easily fix the PR issue here but this does not help OP of course. Get a Three 321 SIM, text your key contacts with your new number, port your old number back when you can (I think your PAC is valid for a month) and get over it!0 -
Thanks again. Been to the shop and got a 321. Looks like a deal which is actually better than Ovivo (internetwise) for a few pence. Cheers.0 -
Yes I consistently noticed that my Three phone toting wife always gets far better data then I do with Ovivo... however, Ovivo penetrates into buildings well so is better for calls. Long term Vodaphone knows the only answer is 4g.0
