The only thing I couldn't see was her browsing history on Safari.

Deleting the history does not remove all data from the phone.

To see the websites that have been viewed go to.. "Settings" >> "Safari" >> "Advanced" >> "Website Data" and it will show you all the sites that have been visited (and stored some data, i.e. a cookie etc..)

    Then post back here..

I'm starting to wonder if maybe I am being a little paranoid over nothing. I appreciate that checking her phone was a bit OTT but it's sort of put my mind at ease a bit more. I was expecting to find allsorts of things I didn't want to see but I didn't see anything much to worry about. It also saves me having to have an awkward chat with her about things. Besides, what she doesn't know won't hurt her, and for those people wittering on about how I'd feel if she checked my phone, I've caught her doing it a handful of times and it's never bothered me once. I don't have anything to hide!

Think I'll just keep my eyes and ears open a bit longer but I'm starting to wonder if maybe she's not up to anything and I'm just over-reacting to her not being her usual self.

Here you go sorted for the time being, you can relax a bit and enjoy your time with your wife. A much better way of getting there than if you had confronted her, she would most likely have taken it badly and you would have felt like a fool when she showed you her phone, or worse, you would have wondered if she deleted everything in the meantime.

If my husband suspected I was having an affair for whatever reason, I would much much prefer that he reassured himself looking at my phone than accusing me of it directly (asking would be the same). We are not protective over our phones, we both leave them around, we know each other's code, we have nothing to hide to each other, so no reason to be protective of them.

Does she have watsapp or snap chat? Snap chat is awful as the message disappears as soon as it is read!

OP, are you using the family computer to post? Your wife might check the history, better delete it!
  • Why would she need a lock for her phone screen knowing too well you don't regularly spy on her phone ?

If it was P*rn, or some shady forum she has joined, or material she reads, most people would be embarrassed if it was to be found out, and may most times close the browser after every visit (not necessarily deleting history), but would not go as far as putting up a screen lock.

    Screen lock means one thing.

SHE DOESN'T WANT YOU TO FIND OUT AT ALL COST.

Which could only be an affair, be it flirting or some other variation if not the main thing yet.

i would suggest you check again.

Facebook- messages. check the log as well

see, if she has got any of these apps.

    whatsapp

    Tagged

    POF- plenty of fish.

    Badoo

    Snapchat

If i was you i would be tempted not to bother and enjoy the new found expertise.
The underside is, if she is up to no good she might get carried away and one day she is saying : " I can't go on like this, i don't love you anymore Mike. "

My oh and I both have screen locks on our phones to prevent access to it/unauthorised calls if it was lost or stolen.

Exactly, my children and OH all have screen locks and sim locks for the exact same reason, if they lose their phones no-one can use their credit or run up contract bills. It's really that simple Macjive.

she could just be shopping for Christmas on fleabay or the likes ya know....

Nowt wrong with a woman finding a bit / a bit more of a sex drive. Sometimes my fella is so busy I think he finds it difficult to find the time for fornication when we both work different shifts, and are constantly tired from work and study...

Nope. Normal people have screen locks/passwords etc, only lazy people like me are too lazy to set them up.

She didn't have one, but suddenly does. That is odd....
