Neither does she it seems, yet she doesn't know you checked hers.

I'd be mighty p***ed if my OH was going out of his way to secretly check my phone.

Why is she checking your phone anyway? Was she just using it for something or did she actually say she thought you were having an affair? Maybe you do have something to hide if she had a basis for doing so?
She probably thought they had not a good sex life , he must be getting something better elsewhere
The word "dilemma" comes from Greek where "di" means two and "lemma" means premise. Refers usually to difficult choice between two undesirable options.
Often people seem to use this word mistakenly where "quandary" would fit better.

But would you have lied to your OH if he had asked who was texting you?

This could be a possibility but so could be cheating if you take everything else the OP has said. I would ask my OH straight why she keeps her phone at her side all the time. Best get it out in the open rather than sneek about looking at the phone whilst she is in the bath.

When I had some doubts about my OH, this is exactly what I did. I put everything to him that was making me nervous and asked him straight up, why are you suddenly always glued to your phone and don't let me see it, e.g. only on it in the bathroom, and can I have a look at it.

He didn't have an explanation why he didn't have it out around me, but said he used it in the toilet because he sits there for up to an hour playing games on it (can't understand that but a lot of men seem to do it!).

He offered me his phone to check, but I refused as to my mind if there was anything dodgy he wouldn't freely offer his phone up.

Since then, he has quite happily shown me things on his phone, let me borrow it for android instead of apple games, and is on it around me.

I would feel very, very, very dirty if I had snuck a look at it in secret, ESPECIALLY if there was nothing on it.

Probably, but at least she did it in the open and not sneaking around behind his back.

It wasn't constantly at her side if she left it when she had a bath.

I sometimes take my phone into the bathroom so I can listen to music quietly; The Fella does the same. Mind you, I don't think his has a code on it, and it looks like his messages come up instantly on the front screen so they are readable. Not certain, though; I've never actually looked at it that carefully.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

This is one of those threads where if it had been a woman posting about her husband the reaction would have been very different.

Absolutely! Everyone would be telling the wife to drop the husband like a ton of bricks and calling him all the names under the sun! When the shoe's on the other foot it's completely the opposite! It's a lose/lose when you're male! :rotfl:

As for why my wife has checked my phone in the past I've no idea, she usually blurts out some random excuse about an alert having gone off and her seeing what it was. I've no track record for her to be suspicious about. I leave it all over the house and regularly forget to take it with me when I go out so she's got all the opportunities in the world to check it when she wants. She's never checked it infront of me, I've always caught her going through it. Not that it bothers me as I think I said before.

I'm well aware of what he was commenting on, I just think it's massively hypocritical. His wife can't use her own phone or have sex with her own husband without being accused of cheating, but he can snoop through her phone and that's fine because "what she doesn't know won't hurt her". I think it shows a complete lack of respect.

But the OP said he knows his wife snoops through his phone. I notice she isn't being lambasted for that is she, but if it's a guy looking through wife or girlfriends phone he's heavily criticised.
So you can't really talk about hypocrisy.

OP, your wife has a 2 year old, a 5 yr old and another child, a part time job, and the energy to possibly play away? Can she bottle it and I'll buy some please?

Has anyone else nipped out and bought the wife an iphone and 50 shades of grey or is it just me?
